The Democrat Party has made it clear that anyone who opposes their agenda should be eliminated.

The Biden administration has been waging a war against Christian conservatives since day one.

And a Bishop just warned that Biden is trying to force healthcare providers to go against their faith.

Biden making progress to expand protections in the Affordable Care Act

In the summer of 2020, the Supreme Court issued an opinion that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 applies to sexual orientation and gender identity.

The opinion had an impact on multiple cases that found their way to the nation’s highest Court.

In July of 2022, Joe Biden took the opinion and used it as a basis to expand the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Leaning into Section 1557 of the ACA, the Biden administration added a provision that prohibits discrimination, to include, gender identity and sexual orientation.

The rule is slated to take effect this summer, and it would make it against the law for healthcare providers to opt out of certain medical procedures.

And one Bishop said that it is pushing an “ideological view of sex” that goes against the beliefs of many faith-based healthcare workers and organizations.

New rules threaten Catholic healthcare groups’ “convictions about care”

Bishop Kevin Rhoades of the Fort Way- South Bend Diocese responded to the upcoming rule in a statement in the final days of April.

“Healthcare that truly heals must be grounded in truth,” he asserted.

“The human right to healthcare flows from the sanctity of human life and the dignity and the wisdom of God’s design that motivates Catholics to care for the sick,” he added.

The bishop went on to explain that the faith-based imperative to provide healthcare ultimately comes from religion.

This includes, “Convictions about care for preborn children and the immutable nature of the human person.”

Rhoades said “These commitments are inseparable.”

Rhoades, who is a voice for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, said the organization is concerned that the new rule will make healthcare providers go against their faith.

This will “undoubtedly exert a major chilling effect” on religious liberty

The statement, published by the USCCB, slammed the expansion of the rules to protect abortion and transgenderism while mostly ignoring the “protections of conscience, religious belief, and clinical judgment.”

This isn’t the first time the group has addressed the proposed rules.

In a report released earlier this year, the USCCB issued a staunch warning about the decline of religious liberty in the United States and how the Biden administration is accelerating it with new rules.

“It would be considered discrimination for a healthcare worker to categorically object to performing gender transition procedures,” the report read.

Their concern is that the rules impacting health insurance providers make it “difficult” for hospitals “to find companies who will provide insurance coverage” that aligns with their organization’s values.

The USCCB argued that the new rules “would undoubtedly exert a major chilling effect on the exercise of faith and conscience in healthcare.”

They said, “This is a dangerous infringement on the Constitution and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.”
