The Democrat Party’s lawfare against Donald Trump is now resorting to below the belt shots.
Millions of Americans find it appalling.
And a Democrat prosecutor just crossed a line with this horrible attack on Ivanka Trump.
A lower court separated Ivanka Trump out from rogue New York State Attorney General Letitia James’ bogus civil fraud lawsuit against Donald Trump and the Trump Organization.
But even though Ivanka Trump is not part of the suit, James still demanded she testify in the trial.
Ivanka Trump filed a motion to delay her midweek testimony on the account of having three young children at home.
“Ms. Trump, who resides in Florida with her three minor children, will suffer undue hardship if a stay is denied and she is required to testify at trial in New York in the middle of a school week, in a case she has already been dismissed from, before her appeal is heard,” Ivanka’s lawyers wrote.
Democrat Attorney General Letitia James sneered at that respect and demanded that Ivanka Trump show up when she ordered her to.
Democrat Judge Arthur Engoron rejected Ivana Trump’s motion, which she promptly appealed.
This only served to further enrage James, who demanded the Appeals Court force Trump to show up as scheduled.
“Ms. Trump’s arguments are based on the false premise that witnesses with relevant, firsthand knowledge may be called to testify only if they are ‘a primary actor’ in the case,” James argued.
James claimed Ivanka Trump “has firsthand knowledge of issues that are central to the ongoing trial.”
“And staying her testimony may well serve to delay the fair and orderly resolution of a trial that has now been proceeding for over almost a month, in which OAG is nearing completion of its case in chief,” she added. “Ms. Trump’s mere need to attend trial for a single day to testify truthfully is not itself a serious harm that warrants emergency relief.”
Ivanka Trump’s testimony is beside the point.
The purpose of this trial is not to just ruin Trump financially, but also to personally humiliate him by allowing the media to run wild with stories about his children being put through the wringer on the witness stand and testifying against their father.
Donald Trump’s only real crime was winning the 2016 election.
