Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her “Squad” are always pushing the envelope.
They excel at causing problems for the Democrat Party.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was groaning when a member of her Squad was caught in this scandal.
After George Floyd’s death in 2020, the “defund the police” movement swept through the Democrat Party like wildfire.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her “Squad” became the head cheerleaders for “defund the police.”
This disastrous movement helped spark the biggest crime wave in generations as criminals continue to wreak havoc in Democrat-controlled cities nationwide.
While Americans are grappling with rising crime, one member of the “Squad” is hypocritically ensuring the police are protecting her.
Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) is one of the newest and most outspoken members of the “Squad.”
She’s the biggest champion of defunding the police in Congress, and never misses an opportunity to bash law enforcement.
But as it turns out, she’s also one of the biggest hypocrites serving in Congress – who could’ve guessed?
According to campaign finance records, Rep. Bush spent more than $500,000 paying private security during the 2022 election cycle.
Between October 20 and November 28, her campaign spent $38,528.63 on “security services.”
Most of the payments went to St. Louis-based private security firm Peace Security, which employ’s former military personnel and police officers as “security operators.”
Bush represents the crime-ridden city of St. Louis, Missouri, which has the highest murder rate in the country, in Congress.
In 2021, she celebrated after the city voted to defund its police department.
While the constituents she represents are living in fear of crime, Rep. Bush is hypocritically spending a small fortune to ensure she’s safe.
Bush defended her lavish spending on private security after CBS News confronted her in 2021.
“They would rather I die?” Bush asked smugly. “You would rather me die? Is that what you want to see? You want to see me die? You know, because that could be the alternative.”
Bush is making sure her security is taken care of while the citizens of St. Louis are suffering from the police being defunded.
She claimed that she needed personal security because of supposed threats against her life, and the fact that she supposedly has “too much work to do.”
“So suck it up, and defunding the police has to happen,” Bush said.
A local St. Louis TV station later discovered that Rep. Bush was employing two off-duty Sheriff’s deputies – the aforementioned police she wanted t to defund – as part of her security detail.
The two deputies were fired for failing to get approval for the job from the county sheriff.
According to Bush, the police aren’t fit to protect the citizens of St. Louis. but they’re perfectly fine for her own personal security.
Despite the glaring hypocrisy, Rep. Bush refuses to back off vocally supporting the “defund the police” movement despite pleas from her fellow Democrats.
Cori Bush once again proves that socialists don’t practice what they preach.
