Since its founding in 1945, the United Nations (U.N.) has taken credit for preventing another World War by claiming to pursue peace and diplomacy between nearly all nations of the world.
However, many Americans have lost faith in this powerful international body, which has espoused some shockingly far-Left motives in recent years.
But American commuters were flummoxed after the United Nations (U.N.) made this radical pledge.
The United Nations has completely failed in most of its goals and initiatives
Following the end of World War II in 1945, the United Nations was established to ensure that there would never be another World War.
However, as war wages in Ukraine and Israel and looms in the South China Sea, Niger, and Armenia, many have questioned the effectiveness of this powerful international force.
Not only do many foreign policy experts find the work of the United Nations to be futile at best, but many also criticize or at the very least recognize its radical left-wing bias.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres of Portugal, who has made headlines over the years regarding his radical left-wing political rants, is at the forefront of this bias.
During a visit to Nepal on Monday, Guterres posed for photos in front of Mt. Everest before issuing a dire warning about what he calls the “climate crisis.”
“The rooftops of the world are caving in,” Guterres said. “Glaciers are icy reservoirs –- the ones here in the Himalayas supply fresh water to well over a billion people. When they shrink, so do river flows.”
He added that “I am here today to cry out from the rooftop of the world: stop the madness. The glaciers are retreating, but we cannot. We must end the fossil fuel age.”
Guterres has made similar remarks over the years, proclaiming that the end of the world is imminent due to climate change.
At the COP27 summit last November, Guterres said that “we are in the fight of our lives, and we are losing. We are on a highway to climate hell with our foot still on the accelerator.”
He added that “we cannot accept that our attention is not focused on climate change. It is the defining issue of our age. It is the central challenge of our century. It is unacceptable, outrageous, and self-defeating to put it on the back burner.”
Why many Americans are rejecting Guterres and the United Nations
The United Nations stands on thin ice when it comes to its popularity with the American public.
Many politicians and foreign policy experts would agree that Antonio Guterres and the United Nations have done more to advance the priorities of terrorists and rogue states like North Korea than any other international entity.
The simple truth is that the United Nations is the closest thing the world has to an international government, which has been the pipe dream of the radical Left for centuries.
Much like other forms of government, the United Nations does little to nothing to advance the cause of individual liberty and does everything to restrict it.
Gutterres’ push to banish the use of fossil fuels is the latest example of the United Nations march towards tyranny.
