The crisis on the southern border of the United States is reaching epic proportions in recent years.
Joe Biden and his administration have refused to secure it and are trying to stop others from closing the gaps.
Now Arizona Governor Doug Ducey is hitting back at the Biden administration over their insane claim about the border.
Doug Ducey says the “lack of urgency” from Biden on immigration was a “dereliction of duty”
Arizona has been waiting a long time for sections of the southern border wall to be complete.
They’re on the frontline of the crisis and have a lot to risk from illegal aliens crossing through their state.
Then Doug Ducey, the Arizona Governor, had a brilliant idea – he would simply stack shipping containers along a 4,000-foot gap in the wall.
Ducey announced the move on Twitter, “Arizona has had enough. We can’t wait any longer. The Biden administration’s lack of urgency on border security is a dereliction of duty. For the last two years, Arizona has made every attempt to work with Washington to address the crisis on our border.”
Ducey went on to say that “time and time again” the state has had to step in “to clean up” the federal government’s mess.
He took action because Arizonans couldn’t “wait any longer for the federal government to deliver on their delayed promises.”
Feds accuse Arizona of trespass against the United States and says the state is “harming federal lands”
It was working well until the federal government stepped in this month.
The Bureau of Reclamation has now demanded that the containers near Yuma be torn down.
In a letter to the Arizona Governor’s office they wrote, “The unauthorized placement of those containers constitutes a violation of federal law and is a trespass against the United States.”
They went on to accuse Arizona of “harming federal lands and resources and impeding Reclamation’s ability to perform its mission.”
The Biden administration claims they are working on filling the gaps in the wall, but border state Governors aren’t holding their breath.
Joe Biden promised on his campaign trail that he would cease all border-related construction that began under Trump.
Ducey, for his part, refuses to remove the containers and the Director of his Emergency and Military Affairs office, Allen Clark, issued a statement pushing back.
Ducey representative says feds “claim jurisdiction” but “do nothing”
Clark said he was expressing grief on behalf of Arizonans with the “myriad of federal agencies that claim jurisdiction on the southern border.”
He said that they “do nothing to prevent the public nuisance caused by illegal immigration and criminal activity that exploits the open border.”
According to Clark, their negligence “is quite frustrating to those that live, work and recreate on the border and in our state.”
Clark said that Arizona will work “with all our federal partners” but still doesn’t know when the project that was originally slated for December of 2021 would begin.
Clark claims that “Arizona has not seen any action by the federal government” to complete the task “and was therefore required to take its own action.”
He added, “For this reason, the containers will remain in place until specific details regarding the construction are provided.”
It’s nice to see that Ducey is working to secure the sovereignty of the state for all Arizonans.
