Barack Obama recently visited the White House to have lunch with Joe Biden.
But this was not a simple social call, as Obama had a very specific message in mind.
Obama warned Joe Biden that he should be very worried about Donald Trump as an opponent in 2024.
He told Biden that the lawfare he is waging against Trump did not make a dent in his base of support.
Of course, Obama understands the political power that a committed base transfers to a politician.
“Obama was visiting the White House for what Biden aides described as a regular catch-up between the two men who served in the White House together for eight years. During their lunch, Obama made it clear his concerns were not about Biden’s political abilities, but rather a recognition of Trump’s iron grip on the Republican Party, according to the people,” the Washington Post exclusively reported.
But Obama’s warning did not just extend to Trump’s chances in the Republican Primary.
Obama cautioned Biden not to fall into the Washington, D.C. group-think that Trump can’t win a General Election.
“Former president Barack Obama, at a private lunch with President Biden earlier this summer, voiced concern about Donald Trump’s political strengths — including an intensely loyal following, a Trump-friendly conservative media ecosystem and a polarized country — underlining his worry that Trump could be a more formidable candidate than many Democrats realize,” the Post also reported.
Democrat prosecutors at the state and federal levels have already slapped Donald Trump with three indictments totaling 74 different counts that carry a combined prison sentence of 561 years.
One of the charges Democrat prosecutor Jack Smith brought against Trump even allows the death penalty in extreme circumstances.
Despite the witch hunts and an eight-year long media smear campaign, the latest New York Times/Siena poll found Trump and Biden tied at 43 percent.
Obama did not end up at the White House to have lunch with Joe Biden by accident.
The former President’s visit was to deliver the message that Joe Biden and his team can’t count on lawfare to take down Donald Trump.
