Joe Biden has been fighting for the Chinese energy sector ever since he was inaugurated in 2021.

He’s taken aim at American energy companies and made it harder for them to compete globally.

Now Biden is looking embarrassed after the House of Representatives stood up for American workers.

House make major move to secure the energy sector for Americans over foreign workers

Members of the U.S. House are pushing back on Biden and standing up for America. That’s why they just passed a resolution to overturn Biden’s policy that made it cheaper for China to sell solar panels in the United States.

The new resolution won’t just impact Chinese imports. It will affect any country that was offered waived tariffs on solar panels in an administrative rule that Biden’s Department of Commerce announced in September of last year.

His rule eliminates all tariffs on solar panels imported from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. It also specifically waived tariffs on any imported panels that use parts manufactured in China.

This is one step in the right direction, but it faces a tough road ahead.

Manchin says Biden is “failing to enforce our existing trade laws”

The Senate has also proposed a similar resolution in response to Biden’s rule. Support is not only in both chambers of Congress, but also across the political aisle. Supporters of such action say that Biden’s rule has made other countries more competitive and gives China a way to sneak around tariffs.

Senator Joe Manchin, a Democrat from West Virginia, said “the United States relies on foreign nations, like China, for our energy needs, and failing to enforce our existing trade laws undermines the goals of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.”

Manchin has put full support behind the Senate’s version of the resolution to overturn the Biden tariff policy. Manchin isn’t the lone Democrat in the Senate showing support.

Democrat Senators Sherrod Brown, Bob Casey, and Ron Wyden have signed on as well.

Other Democrat Senators are reviewing the issue, but Biden has already made it clear what his next move would be.

Biden promises to veto any resolution that threatens his rule

Biden’s tariff was put in place to “provide sufficient electricity generation to serve expected customer demand” in the country. It is set to expire in June of 2024 or whenever the President decides to rescind it. Now the legislative action being brought threatens to shut him down.

The White House addressed the issue following the passing of the House Resolution. They said that they’ve been working for the American energy sector “from day one,” and that includes Biden’s use of an emergency proclamation to waive the tariffs.

They said that “passage of this joint resolution would undermine these efforts and create deep uncertainty for jobs and investments in the solar supply chain and the solar installation market.” They said that the tariffs were designed to “satisfy the demand” for green energy.

If the Congress does pass this legislation, regime officials said the bill would be dead on arrival at Biden’s desk and become the third veto of his Presidency.
