Comedian and talk show host Bill Maher is clearly a liberal.
But he is a liberal who detests the rabid hypocrisy of the radical Left.
Now Bill Maher is blasting these Democrat officials for their blatant hypocrisy on illegal immigration.
The southern border is out of control.
And it affects almost every state in the nation.
“We are sanctuary cities and states but, we’re all full up right now”
Maher recently shared his disdain for some of America’s leading Democrat politicians.
He called out Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and Colorado Governor Jared Polis, all Democrats, for their comments on illegal immigration.
And Maher further attacked these Democrats for “saying the things they’re not supposed to say.”
During the “Overtime” segment of HBO’s Real Time, host Bill Maher said Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and Colorado Governor Jared Polis have reacted to the surges of illegals in their cities and states by “saying the thing that they’re not supposed to say,” which is that even though they claim to be sanctuary jurisdictions, “we’re all full up right now.”
Maher said, “All those three have said basically — it’s so funny, because they . . . were basically saying the thing that they’re not supposed to say, which is that, I know we love immigrants and we’re sanctuary cities, but we’re all full up right now.”
The soon-to-be CNN host was pointing out the complete hypocrisy of Democrat politicians who claim they support all illegal immigration, until illegal aliens show up in their cities and towns.
Then of course, all bets are off.
While the Texas city of El Paso deals with as many as 2,000 immigrants per day, Chicago, New York, and Colorado can’t seem to handle a couple hundred over months.
Even Canada has restrictions
Maher then pointed out the ridiculousness of the Democrat’s current illegal immigration policy of open borders for all.
He said, “[E]ven Canada has restrictions.”
Maher then pointed out that, “It’s amazing that so many issues that you talk about, if people were just not hateful toward each other and could do grand bargains like they used to . . . there’s got to be something in between they’re all rapists and come one, come all. And there is.”
The liberal host continued his mocking of Democrat politicians who insist on crying and whining every time another busload of illegals hits their city or state.
He hit on a point that most Americans are furious about, but Democrats like Lightfoot, Adams and Polis seemingly can’t understand.
You can’t have it both ways
That is the simple fact these Democrats simply can’t have it both ways.
They are either accepting of illegal aliens since that is what they purport to support, or they must oppose the open border policies of Joe Biden.
It was all fine and dandy to become sanctuary cities and states when the illegals were not actually coming there, but now these Democrats are in a bind.
They know what will happen if illegals flood into their towns, they’ve seen it happen to border towns in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California.
And Mayors and Governors in deep blue areas now realize it will soon happen to them.
Overcrowding in schools and hospitals, a drain on first responders, increased crime, and shortages of all services.
The only question that remains is will any of the Democrat politicians ever admit open borders are a mistake?
