Democrats are more interested in playing politics than keeping communities safe
Every time a tragic mass shooting takes place in America, the Left immediately jumps to politics.
To make matters worse, Democrats often vilify Christians and law-abiding gun owners by claiming that firearms are the sole cause of these tragedies.
And now top Democrats are scheming up a number of firearm restrictions that would make it even harder for law-abiding gun owners to exercise their Second Amendment rights.
Leading the charge is Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer, who called on the Democrat caucus to convene on Monday to discuss passing gun control.
After the tragic shooting in Texas, Chuck Schumer wrote on social media that “the news of this latest mass shooting in Texas is horrifying. We pray for the victims, the survivors, their families, and the community, and thank the first responders. We must keep working to end gun violence in America. We must keep working for stronger gun safety legislation.”
This message falls in line with other Democrats who immediately jumped at the opportunity to push for gun control.
However, some Democrats went one step further and used the tragic shooting to attack Christians and gun owners.
“Too many families have empty chairs at their dinner tables,” Joe Biden said in a statement. “Republican Members of Congress cannot continue to meet this epidemic with a shrug. Tweeted thoughts and prayers are not enough.”
“Once again I ask Congress to send me a bill banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines,” he added. “Enacting universal background checks. Requiring safe storage. Ending immunity for gun manufacturers. I will sign it immediately. We need nothing less to keep our streets safe.”
It is not yet clear what Chuck Schumer has in mind, but Democrats have repeatedly called for bans on “high-capacity” magazines and so-called assault rifles.
Democrats are completely missing the mark when it comes to public safety
Although Democrats like Chuck Schumer claim to support measures that improve public safety, the exact opposite is true.
Nearly every Democrat-controlled part of America is in the midst of a major crime surge, which is a direct result of the Left’s support for pro-crime policies like cashless bail.
In cities such as New York City and San Francisco, more people than ever are victimized by violent crime on a daily basis.
Democrats are not serious about stopping violence.
Instead, they only care about punishing Christians, conservatives, and law-abiding gun owners.
