Democrats know that the best defense is a good offense.

But right now their offensive line of attack against J.D. Vance is collapsing right before their very eyes.

Democrats told such an outlandish lie about J.D. Vance that CNN’s Jim Acosta had to do damage control.

Democrats should have picked the other guy

Democrats were banking on an enthusiasm boost to happen for Kamala Harris’ campaign after she announced her running mate.

But then the Harris campaign picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and most of the enthusiasm died instantly.

They could have gone with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who was about as good of a pick as the Democrats could dream of getting.

But for reasons that still don’t make sense, the Harris campaign went with Walz and all of his baggage.

Many familiar with Minnesota politics knew the horrid past of Governor Walz, but now that he is running as the Vice Presidential pick for Democrats, all of his past mistakes and lies are coming to light.

And the one piece of baggage that is sticking with Walz is him lying about his military service.

Nobody is questioning that Walz was a longtime member of the Minnesota National Guard.

But Walz is catching fire from veterans and Republicans for making lies about being a combat veteran.

By now you probably know that Walz abruptly retired from his unit right when he got the news that he was going to Iraq to serve in a combat role.

New low even for Democrats

But now that Walz’s lies are being exposed, Democrats are doing everything in their power to tarnish J.D. Vance’s military record.

Vance is a proud Marine veteran who served in Iraq.

More specifically, Vance served in the Marines as a combat correspondent in Iraq from 2003 to 2007.

And that’s a fact that no one can dispute.

But facts are a finicky thing in politics.

And Democrats are now going on national television and questioning Vance’s military record.

Minnesota Democrat Senator Tina Smith went on CNN with Jim Acosta and started to claim that Vance didn’t serve in the military.

“Well, here is Tim Walz, who enlisted when he was 17 years old,” Smith said. “He served in the National Guard for 24 years, and I’m not aware of any military service that J.D. Vance has served, so let’s just make the comparison there.”

Reluctantly, Acosta responded back against Senator Smith’s comment by saying that “he was in the Marines.”

Even former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to discredit Vance’s service.

The former Speaker went on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell and asked “has J.D. Vance been in combat?”

But before Pelosi could dig herself into a deeper hole, Mitchell stopped her and said that “he was over in Iraq.”

This new line of attack against Vance isn’t going to settle well with veterans, who may be the ones to determine the outcome of the election.
