Younger Americans have always been more left-leaning than the rest of the nation, which gives Democrats a stranglehold on the youth vote.
But YouTube sensation Nelk Boys are hoping to change that this fall.
And Democrats were terrified after the Nelk Boys announced their first political initiative with J.D. Vance.
Hope for the next generation?
Something rather peculiar is starting to happen amongst many of the top “influencers” on social media.
Suddenly, it’s become rather acceptable to not only speak positively about former President Donald Trump, but to also openly support him.
Much of the sudden changes happening online can be traced back to one group of influential YouTubers called the Nelk Boys.
The Nelk Boys are a group of young guys in their 20s and 30s who have built a massive social media following and parlayed it into a growing business empire.
They also started and own the Happy Dad beer brand.
For years, the Nelk Boys have racked up hundreds of millions of views across social media.
And they’ve been unabashed in their support for Trump, including wearing red MAGA hats and flying Trump flags at their events.
The former President himself even made an appearance on their Full Send Podcast last April and Donald Trump Jr. has made multiple appearances as well.
But they’re taking their support for Trump up a notch.
Send The Vote
With Trump’s Vice Presidential running mate and U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) as a guest on their podcast last week, the episode opened with a message from Nelk founder Kyle Forgeard who announced that the group was launching Send The Vote.
Send The Vote is a get-out-the-vote effort geared towards encouraging young conservative voters to head to the polls in November.
“Alright, guys, the world is becoming a crazy place,” Forgeard, who grew up in Canada before moving to the U.S., began. “You guys know me, I live in the USA, I love living here, I’ve built multiple businesses here – I personally feel very blessed to live in America. I know a lot of you guys, like me, are not happy with the way things are being run right now. The border is going crazy, prices and inflation are through the roof – I hear this stuff all the time when I meet you guys in person. That’s why, guys, I am pumped up with SendTheVote.com.”
Forgeard went on to describe it as a “pro-America, pro-freedom organization.”
He said it’s “not about being Republican or Democrat” and urged his audience to send the website to their friends and family and make sure that “everyone pro-America is registered to vote.”
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the group is looking to raise up to $20 million to maximize Send The Vote’s reach and will also be partnering with numerous other entertainers and sports figures, like the UFC’s many pro-Trump fighters, to get the word out even further.
But Send The Vote is really only scratching the surface of the potential benefits the Trump-Vance campaign could reap from the apparent shift happening amongst younger Americans.
For example, immensely popular YouTubers, such as Logan and Jake Paul, have suddenly started voicing their support for the former President as well.
Trump was a guest on Logan’s IMPAULSIVE podcast back in June where he racked up over 6 million views.
Trump recently made a TikTok video with Jake while the two were together at a Bitcoin Conference in Nashville.
Jake supported Vivek Ramaswamy during the Primary, but he is now on team Trump.
A golden opportunity for Trump
The Paul brothers also recently got into a bit of a disagreement over who would offer Trump more money for the MAGA hat that he was wearing when he survived the attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania.
After both put forward millions of dollars’ worth of bids, they decided they should just go “halfsies” before ultimately realizing that the former President would likely never sell the hat.
Furthermore, Trump recently made an appearance with top streamer Adin Ross, who called the stream “the most important” he’s ever done.
Adin Ross also has millions of young followers who could certainly be persuaded to turn out and vote for the former President in November.
According to reports, the Trump stream was the most-viewed of Ross’ career, reaching a peak audience of nearly 600,000 live viewers while also being seen by millions across social media – a replay of the stream has already racked up over one-million views on YouTube.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ emergence as the Democrats’ Presidential nominee only makes the battle for the youth vote even more important toTrump’s success.
The Trump campaign sees the opportunity that is in front of it with younger Americans.
And now they just have to capitalize on it.
