Even though Election Day is nearly 18 months away, the 2024 election cycle is heating up.

So far, only a few Republicans have officially declared their candidacy.

But Donald Trump is roaring with laughter after Liz Cheney made this one direct attack.

Liz Cheney is preparing for a Presidential run despite having little GOP support

Although Liz Cheney calls herself a Republican, she is widely despised by the vast majority of Republicans.

Liz Cheney was one of the few Republicans to serve on the infamous January 6 panel, which was specifically designed to attack Donald Trump and his supporters.

For this reason and more, Liz Cheney suffered a humiliating defeat in the Wyoming GOP Congressional Primary.

Following her monumental defeat, Liz Cheney compared herself to Abraham Lincoln by claiming that “the great and original champion of our Party, Abraham Lincoln, was defeated in elections for the Senate and the House before he won the most important election of all.”

This claim led to speculation that Liz Cheney was eyeing a Presidential run.

And that speculation was just reaffirmed with an attack ad Cheney ran against Donald Trump in New Hampshire, which hosts the first Primary of the election cycle.

In the 60-second ad, Cheney claims “Donald Trump is a risk America can never take again.  Donald Trump is the only President in American history who has refused to guarantee the peaceful transfer of power … There has never been a greater dereliction of duty by any President.”

“This fight is not over — it may take many years,” Cheney added. “For anyone wondering about my own future, let me say this: I will do everything in my power to make sure Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office.”

Although Liz Cheney has yet to make an official announcement regarding her candidacy in 2024, this ad shows that she’s interested in playing a role in the 2024 election.

However, Liz Cheney is not polling very well and has a lot of ground to cover if she hopes to give Trump some competition.

In a recent poll taken by CBS and the Washington Post, Liz Cheney failed to get 1% support compared to Donald Trump who secured 53%.

Liz Cheney is desperately trying to get the “Never-Trump” movement to catch on

For years now, moderate Republicans like Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, and others have desperately tried to turn the Republican Party against Donald Trump.

However, nothing they do works.

In fact, their efforts to demonize Trump have backfired spectacularly.

Although Liz Cheney is dumping piles of cash into ad buys in strategically important states like New Hampshire, Republicans are not buying her narrative.

Every single Republican nomination poll has proved this.

Even though the Primaries still have to be played out, it seems that 2024 will most likely feature a rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
