Elon Musk went nuclear after he uncovered a major conspiracy inside Twitter to undermine his free speech efforts

When Elon Musk released the first batch of Twitter Files to expose the company’s past suppression of free speech, he promised more would follow but it’s been crickets ever since.

Now the reason for that delay has finally been exposed.

And Elon Musk went nuclear after he uncovered a major conspiracy inside Twitter to undermine his free speech efforts.

The missing Twitter Files

When Elon Musk completed his purchase of Twitter, he set the social media giant on a new path toward becoming the digital town square it was originally meant to be by prioritizing free speech.

As a result, he proceeded to quickly relieve virtually every Twitter executive and most of upper-level management of their duties, while also giving roughly half of Twitter’s 15,000 employees their walking papers as part of an effort to stop the company from losing $4 million per day.

Musk also set out to begin the process of creating transparency about Twitter’s past suppression of free speech on the platform by exposing the company’s past internal communications on the matter.

Last Friday, the first batch of the Twitter Files, as Musk has dubbed them, were released through journalist Matt Taibbi, who worked in partnership with former New York Times journalist Bari Weiss, who departed the outlet after growing frustrated with editors’ refusal to publish reporting that didn’t fit neatly into the radical Left’s worldview.

Once Taibbi had released the first reporting, which exposed the Biden regime’s efforts to suppress information about President Joe Biden’s scandal-plagued son, Hunter, on Twitter, Musk promised that the next batch of Twitter Files would be released the next day, with many more to follow.

However, a week later, nothing had been released.

But on Tuesday, Taibbi broke his silence and revealed exactly why the release of the next round of reporting on the Twitter Files had been delayed.

And in all honesty, the greatest writers from throughout the history of human civilization couldn’t possibly script what has transpired at Twitter’s Silicon Valley HQ over the past few days.

Musk laid down the law

“On Friday, the first installment of the Twitter files was published here,” Taibbi wrote on Twitter Tuesday. “We expected to publish more over the weekend. Many wondered why there was a delay.”

“We can now tell you part of the reason why,” he continued. “On Tuesday, Twitter Deputy General Counsel (and former FBI General Counsel) Jim Baker was fired. Among the reasons? Vetting the first batch of ‘Twitter Files’ — without knowledge of new management.”

Yes, you read that correctly – Twitter’s General Counsel, who just happens to be the former FBI General Counsel, was “vetting” the Twitter Files before they were released to journalists without the knowledge of Musk or any of the new management he’s put in place.

Taibbi went on to explain that after the release of the first batch of files, Weiss discovered “that the person in charge of releasing the files was someone named Jim.”

“When she called to ask ‘Jim’s’ last name, the answer came back: ‘Jim Baker,’” Taibbi reported.

“My jaw hit the floor,” Taibbi quoted Weiss as saying.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg – and you may want to buckle up before this final shoe drops.

As Taibbi went on to explain, Baker “is a controversial figure,” as he was the FBI General Counsel during the whole Russiagate fiasco, and resigned in 2018 amid an investigation over leaks to – surprise, surprise – the Fake News Media.

“He has been something of a Zelig of FBI controversies dating back to 2016, from the Steele Dossier to the Alfa-Server mess,” Taibbi explained. “He resigned in 2018 after an investigation into leaks to the press.”

It’s unreal how far the Left has gone to infiltrate every aspect of society, and to ensure that they have so many individuals inside critical corporations, like Twitter, that snuffing them all out at once is impossible.

Obviously, the most important factor here is that Baker was discovered despite his efforts to fly under the radar and conspire against Musk’s free speech efforts from inside the company.

But equally as important is the way Elon Musk reacted and handled the situation.

Musk personally responded to Taibbi’s reporting on Baker’s role in suppressing the release of the Twitter Files by tweeting that in light of the information, he “exited” Baker from the company immediately on Tuesday.

Musk also went on to explain that upon receiving the information about Baker from Taibbi and Weiss he brought the now former Twitter General Counsel in for questioning.

But Musk determined that Baker’s “explanation was . . . unconvincing,” leading to his decision to immediately fire the left-wing elitist.

There’s little doubt there will be more episodes like this as Musk continues to remake Twitter into a platform that protects free speech – much less a profitable one.

Americans can take much solace in the way Elon Musk has handled this situation, though, as it proves he’s not just talking the free speech and accountability talk, he’s walking the walk.

And if he continues at the rate he’s going, Musk’s transformation of Twitter into a free speech platform could prove to be one of the most important turning points in working class Americans’ fight for freedom against the ruling class elites yet.
