Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is in the hot seat after a sex scandal was uncovered.
Her case against Donald Trump is on the verge of collapsing.
And Fani Willis was blindsided when Jim Jordan threw her this nasty curveball.
The RICO case in Georgia against former President Donald Trump for contesting the state’s 2020 election was turned upside down by a major scandal.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis hired Nathan Wade as a special prosecutor on the Trump case and paid him more than $600,000 in taxpayer money while she was secretly in a relationship with him.
Wade was accused of using the taxpayer money he received as a special prosecutor to pay for luxury vacations with Willis to places like Napa Valley, California, Florida, and the Caribbean.
He was a private practice attorney who had never prosecuted a felony before let alone a complicated RICO case like this one.
Wade is now in the crosshairs of House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) for his work with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and his ties to the Biden White House.
Jordan is demanding that Wade turn over any documented communications he had with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, the White House, and the Justice Department.
The Ohio lawmaker said that he has reason to believe Wade has evidence of “coordination of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office (FCDAO) with other politically motivated investigations and prosecutions and the potential misuse of federal funds.”
“The Committee has serious concerns about the degree of improper coordination among politicized actors—including the Biden White House — to investigate and prosecute President Biden’s chief political opponent,” Jordan wrote in a letter to Wade.
Jordan said that Wade met with former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) January 6 Select Committee and with Biden officials at the White House before the Georgia case against Trump was launched.
He speculated that money from Biden’s Justice Department could have been used to prosecute Trump.
“The FCDAO reportedly compensated you using a concoction of commingled funds, including monies confiscated or seized by the FCDAO and monies directed from Fulton County’s ‘general’ fund. The Committee has information that the FCDAO received approximately $14.6 million in grant funds from the Department of Justice between 2020 and 2023 and, given the enormous legal fees you have billed to the FCDAO, there are open questions about whether federal funds were used by the FCDAO to finance your prosecution,” Jordan wrote.
Wade is being asked by the Judiciary Committee to turn over all of the relevant information to the Trump case.
This is the latest blow for Willis in the growing scandal involving her relationship with Wade.
She was subpoenaed in the divorce proceedings between Wade and his ex-wife Joycelyn.
Willis is accused of beginning her relationship with him while he was still married.
That affair is going to be a major problem moving forward for the prosecution in the Trump case.
