Sometimes leftists will say the quiet part out loud.

It’s often the last thing Democrat representatives from swing districts want to hear, as it showcases the radicalism of the Party.

But far-Left Representative Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) just called for ending the fossil fuel industry.

A radical plan to completely stop drilling

Representative Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) cut right to the chase and pushed for an end to fossil fuel drilling.

It’s a hardline position that, if it came to pass, would mean a loss of jobs for thousands of Americans.

Bowman made the remarks ahead of a vote on the debt ceiling bill on Monday.

Bowman, one of the lawmakers with concerns about the deal brokered between House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Biden to raise the debt ceiling, said that a “major problem” in the bill was a “Joe Manchin pipeline” that Democrats previously rejected based on climate change concerns.

“And what’s problematic about that is number one, we need to stop drilling for fossil fuels completely, but number two, we need an expedited way to get us to clean renewable energy, or we will continue to have these severe weather events that we have been having for quite some time because of the warming of the planet,” Bowman told CNN host Wolf Blitzer.

In a shot at Joe Manchin (D-WV), Bowman was referring to the Mountain Valley Pipeline, a natural gas pipeline that would run from West Virginia to southern Virginia.

Manchin was pleased at the inclusion of funding for the pipeline.

On Monday, Manchin said “last summer, I introduced legislation to complete the Mountain Valley Pipeline. I am pleased Speaker McCarthy and his leadership team see the tremendous value in completing the MVP to increase domestic energy production and drive down costs across America and especially in West Virginia. I am proud to have fought for this critical project and to have secured the bipartisan support necessary to get it across the finish line.”

Bowman has been all-in on climate change legislation like other far-Left House members.

Bowman refuses to give up on his radical green dream

In 2021, he introduced the $1.4 trillion “Green New Deal for Public Schools” to invest in upgrading school buildings with climate-friendly infrastructure.

At the time, he said “it’s time for a revolution in public education. As we deal with a devastating climate crisis caused by decades of unchecked corporate greed, we need to center our children and their future.”

Luckily, Bowman’s ideas are unlikely to be implemented with a Republican-controlled House.

Americans are already paying more at the pump as a direct result of the Democrats’ hostility to the oil and gas industries.
