Hunter Biden’s laptop is the lynchpin to the scandals surrounding the Biden family.
Hunter Biden has been under criminal investigation for nearly five years.
And Hunter Biden just learned some brutal news about facing criminal charges.
U.S. Attorney David Weiss is running the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden.
The investigation focused on allegations that Hunter Biden failed to pay his taxes and lied on a federal background check form when purchasing a firearm by saying he was not addicted to drugs or alcohol even though he admitted in a book that he was using drugs at that time.
FBI agents are reportedly frustrated with the situation.
They claim the investigation wrapped up more than a year ago and there is enough evidence to bring criminal charges against Hunter, but the Department of Justice under Attorney General Merrick Garland is sitting on its hands.
NBC News reports:
Federal prosecutors have considered charging Hunter Biden with three tax crimes and a charge related to a gun purchase, said two sources familiar with the matter.
The possible charges are two misdemeanor counts for failure to file taxes, a single felony count of tax evasion related to a business expense for one year of taxes, and the gun charge, also a potential felony.
Two senior law enforcement sources told NBC News about “growing frustration” inside the FBI because investigators finished the bulk of their work on the case about a year ago. A senior law enforcement source said the IRS finished its investigation more than a year ago.
This story served as a follow up to a bombshell Wall Street Journal report about how the IRS criminal investigation supervisor wrote a letter to Congress requesting whistleblower protections in exchange for information proving that the Biden administration was giving Hunter preferential treatment.
The whistleblower’s letter accused Attorney General Merrick Garland of misleading Congress during testimony when he claimed that Weiss had every resource necessary at his disposal and faced no interference.
NBC’s reporting bolsters the potential whistleblower’s allegations that Garland and the Biden administration exerted political influence on the case by revealing that the investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged gun and tax crimes finished long ago and that prosecutors and the FBI believe there is enough evidence to charge him.
But Hunter Biden is facing no indictments.
And there is only one reasonable explanation as to why.
