Critics contend that Fulton County Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis is running the most nakedly political witch hunt of all the criminal prosecutions against Donald Trump.

But Willis may have stepped over the line.

And Jim Jordan dropped one bomb on Fani Willis that will have Democrats slamming the panic button.

Fani Willis and prosecutor Jack Smith both brought unconstitutional criminal charges against Donald Trump for contesting the results of the 2020 election.

Democrats contested the results of the 2000, 2004, and 2016 elections, but no one got indicted.

But Democrats collectively snapped after the 2016 election and now the Left is willing to trash any norm or guardrail against the abuse of government power if it means preventing Donald Trump from winning another term in the White House.

Normally, state prosecutors back off if the federal government is going to bring similar charges.

But Jordan and many other Republicans argue that the process is the punishment, as Democrats wanted as many criminal charges in as many jurisdictions as possible in order to overwhelm voters with a sense that Trump is the greatest criminal mastermind since Al Capone.

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee want answers.

Chairman Jim Jordan fired off a letter to Willis detailing the evidence he compiled that proves her case against Trump was an attempt at political vengeance.

Willis put up a fundraising website for her campaign just days before she announced that she planned to bring charges in this case.

The letter noted how Willis and Smith interviewed “many of the same witnesses” and sought documents detailing coordination between the Biden Department of Justice and an elected Democrat prosecutor slapping criminal charges against the leading opposition candidate for President.

“News outlets have reported that your office and Mr. Smith ‘interviewed many of the same witnesses and reviewed much of the same evidence’ in reaching your decision to indict President Trump,” Jordan wrote. “The House Committee on the Judiciary thus may investigate whether federal law enforcement agencies or officials were involved in your investigation or indictment.”

Many Republicans do not believe that three different Democrat prosecutors filed criminal charges against Trump in three of the citadels of Blue state America.

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee aim to find out if this lawfare at the state and federal levels was a coordinated operation.
