Trust in the nation’s top law enforcement agency has plummeted.
Even the talking heads in the corporate-controlled media admit there is a “loss in confidence” for federal agencies.
And Jim Jordan just made one demand that left Joe Biden’s cronies at the FBI terrified.
Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) is calling for Congress to use its power of the purse to hold the FBI accountable in the wake of the Durham Report.
Jordan has long noted the Bureau’s targeting of pro-life groups and conservative parents and guardians at school board meetings.
But now he is urging Congress to use appropriations as a way to pressure the FBI to reform.
During an appearance on Fox News, Jordan told host Maria Bartiromo that “we’ve got to limit how they spend the money, maybe even limit them. Here’s a great example. They want millions of dollars, hundreds of millions of dollars in their construction budget for a new facility. No way. No way should we approve that.”
Jordan’s frustrations stem from the release of Special Counsel John Durham’s long-awaited report last week.
The report detailed a list of criticisms against the FBI over its handling of the Trump-Russia investigation.
In its conclusion, the report held that the “FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law.”
It also criticized the Bureau for not taking into account whether it “was being manipulated for political or other purposes” during the inquiry.
The FBI relied heavily on the controversial unvetted and unverified “Steele Dossier” to obtain a FISA warrant to target former Trump campaign associate Carter Page.
Durham pointed out that the FBI did not and could not corroborate any of the substantive allegations in the file.
Jordan also criticized the Bureau for its alleged corruption and targeting of individuals and groups based on their political bent.
“We had these whistleblowers who tell us about the retaliation they are getting from the FBI for simply telling Congress the wrongdoing that was going on,” Jordan said. “Telling Congress about parents being targeted for going to school board meetings, telling Congress about pro-lifers being targeted.”
The FBI is now in the crosshairs of a growing number of political players.
Some Republicans, such as 2024 hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy, have suggested that the Bureau needs to be defunded or abolished altogether.
