Skyrocketing inflation, record gas prices, the border crisis, food shortages, civil unrest, and global chaos – those are just a few of the issues created by Joe Biden and Democrats.
Issues, mind you, they’re completely ignoring to push identity politics and their radical socialist agenda.
Now Joe Biden is declaring war on American infrastructure by declaring it “racist” under this bizarre plan.
Your tax dollars at work
Last November, President Joe Biden signed the $1.2 TRILLION Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law, much to the glee of the Left and establishment Republicans.
Of course, this supposed bi-partisan “infrastructure” bill spent more on non-infrastructure projects, like “climate investments,” “free” housing, Obamacare “credits,” and “free” college tuition, than actual infrastructure projects.
Now, this disastrous bill is taking root, and the wasteful spending may actually be worse than anyone thought.
On Thursday, small town Mayor turned Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced the launch of the Reconnecting Communities project, which was funded by the so-called “infrastructure” bill.
Under this scheme, the Biden Transportation Department will allocate $1 BILLION to remedy supposed “inequalities” created by the interstate highway system.
According to Secretary Buttigieg and other left-wing radicals, road projects built after the 1950s creation of the interstate highway system sought to “racially segregate” neighborhoods and “cut off” black communities from the rest of the world.
And in order to fix this, American taxpayers have now forked out $1 billion – with obviously more to come – to build “rapid bus transit,” cap roadways with “green spaces” called “freeway lids,” and even completely remove sections of highway.
All because the roads are racist . . .
But don’t worry, Mayor Pete wants to ensure everyone knows that this project isn’t about what happened in the past, or assigning blame or guilt.
“This is a forward-looking vision,” the Secretary claimed. “Our focus isn’t about assigning blame. It isn’t about getting caught up in guilt. It’s about fixing a problem. It’s about mending what has been broken, especially when the damage was done with taxpayer dollars.”
Of course, such claims didn’t stop Buttigieg from doing exactly what he said he wasn’t going to do, as he assigned blame for these supposed issues to politicians and planners who wanted to use roads to somehow “eliminate black communities.”
“[W]e can’t ignore the basic truth that some of the planners and politicians behind those projects built them directly through the heart of vibrant populated communities, sometimes in an effort to reinforce segregation, sometimes because the people there had less power to resist, and sometimes as part of a direct effort to replace or eliminate black neighborhoods,” the Secretary said.
The program will target areas including New Orleans, Houston, Tampa, and Nashville, which is rather interesting considering these areas have been almost exclusively run by Democrats for decades.
And by Mayor Pete’s logic that would put the blame for racism squarely on the Left.
Mayor Pete didn’t dare get into that though.
After all, it’s not about assigning blame or guilt.
A scheme to put Mayor Pete in the White House?
It’s no secret that Democrats are becoming less and less enthusiastic about President Joe Biden running for re-election in 2024.
In recent weeks, many top Democrats have publicly voiced concerns about keeping Biden as their nominee, but the Party simply doesn’t have a deep bench behind the President.
That has left Democrats with a list of potential candidates that includes the likes of universally unpopular Vice President Kamala Harris, failed California Governor Gavin Newsom, and radical socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Needless to say, Democrats are desperate for more options.
Which is exactly why this project might actually all be the first step towards a left-wing effort to propel Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg to become a top contender for the Democrat nomination in 2024.
After all, the corporate-controlled media has certainly played their part in this scheme well, plastering Mayor Pete all over their outlets’ coverage, and praising him as some sort of Robin Hood coming to save the Left’s voter base.
As the AP pointed out, with projects like this under the Left’s so-called “infrastructure” bill, Secretary Buttigieg is “handling the largest infusion of cash into the transportation sector since the 1950s creation of the interstate highway system.”
“Armed with that much money and significant latitude in how to spend it, Buttigieg is poised to be the most influential Secretary of Transportation ever,” Jeff Davis, a senior fellow at the Eno Center for Transportation, said.
Democrats can pretend this is all about “equality” and solving “racism,” but make no mistake about it, nothing they do is by accident.
