The Left has an obsession with regulating every aspect of life
During the mid-Twentieth Century, many on the Left protested and fought for freedom from government oversight and regulation.
But these days many on the Left support the government regulating every aspect of life.
For example, the Daily Mail released a bombshell report on Thursday indicating that the federal government is eyeballing a new guideline that would limit beer consumption to two beers a week for adults.
Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), George Koob, spoke to the Daily Mail and said that he is interested in this new restrictive guideline.
As it stands, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) recommends that women have no more than 1 drink every day and men have no more than two drinks.
In the Daily Mail, Koob said “if there’s health benefits, I think people will start to re-evaluate where we’re at. Most of the benefits people attribute to alcohol, we feel they really have more to do with what someone’s eating rather than what they’re drinking.”
“So it really has to do with the Mediterranean diet, socio-economic status, that makes you able to afford that kind of diet and make your own fresh food and so forth,” he added. “With this in mind, most of the benefits kind of disappear on the health side.”
In response to these claims, Representative Troy Nehls told Fox News Digital that “Biden’s beer czar has no business advising ‘guidance’ on alcohol consumption. This is who the Democrats are. They want to control every aspect of your life.”
“Two beers a week?” he added. “What a joke. Let’s not forget that JFK snagged 1,200 Cuban cigars just hours before banning all Cuban products from the United States.”
For the record, guidelines released by the NIAAA are not legally binding and typically only serve as a strong recommendation.
The Democrat Party is entirely out of touch with mainstream America
As Nehls pointed out to Fox News, the idea of recommending at most two beers a week is rooted in complete fantasy and highlights the Democrat Party’s hypocritical obsession with regulation and red tape.
The radical Left and their government stooges are completely divorced from the lives of average Americans who enjoy a couple of beers after a hard day’s work.
Koob’s recommendation of a low-alcohol Mediterranean diet is not just elitist, but it’s also unrealistic for millions of Americans.
