The Democrat National Convention was in Chicago this year and local law enforcement were on edge all week.
Large swathes of protesters took to the streets in a city where crime is already a burgeoning problem.
And these leftist policies put the lives of delegates at risk outside the Democrat National Convention in Chicago.
Chicago beset by “tens of thousands” of angry protesters during the DNC
The Democrat National Convention (DNC) went to Chicago this year in what appeared to be their best shot at generating large crowds of Democrat support.
But their plan backfired after thousands of anti-Israel protesters showed up to demand a change in direction for the Party.
The nonprofit organization, NGO Monitor, released a report ahead of the event warning that groups like CODEPINK and Samidoun would be organizing a rally called “March on the DNC.”
The groups, funded by the likes of George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, were hoping to “end U.S. aid to Israel.”
“March on the DNC” promised to bring “tens of thousands” of angry leftists to the streets of Chicago to create a chaotic scenario.
Their goal was to stop the Democrat Party’s “neglect” of communities that support them “in favor of serving the rich and powerful.”
Democrat lawmakers were so worried that they chose to hide their identities.
House sergeant-at-arms to DNC: “Try not to engage” protesters
Ahead of the DNC, a report by Axios revealed that Democrat members of Congress were changing their names on reservations in order to avoid their constituents.
“House Democrats attending the Democrat National Convention next week are being advised by Congressional security officials not to book hotel rooms under their own names,” the report said. “The guidance comes as some Democratic lawmakers are fearful about their safety after being rattled by a series of pro-Palestine protests.”
And as the DNC kicked off, they began to see evidence of the far-Left on the search for Democrat lawmakers.
Hotels received “random calls asking for people,” one lawmaker told Axios.
The House sergeant-at-arms was forced to give guidance to members of Congress.
“If you are confronted by protesters, try not to engage,” he said.
But despite the security precautions, one delegate from Texas was put in a life-threatening situation.
Texas delegate robbed at gunpoint in downtown Chicago
In the early hours of August 21, a member of the Texas Democrat delegation was walking on W. Randolph near the Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel when a man exited a black Range Rover with a gun drawn and ordered him to hand over his wallet and hotel room key.
After getting the wallet and a room key, the suspect crossed the street where he then held up another Texas Democrat.
According to CWB Chicago, police are looking for a “pair” of suspects responsible for the robberies.
Chicago is known for its daily gunfights and rampant violent crime.
But the Democrat Party ignored the inherent risks and still chose to host their nominating convention there.
Now it seems that the Party’s own members were forced to experience the real-world consequences of their own disastrous policies.
