Democrats have proven that they are willing to go to any and all extremes to target President Trump.
Since they’ve arguably gone outside the law in their quest, some Republicans are fighting back.
And Manhattan District Attorney Bragg blew a gasket when Andy Biggs (R-AZ) introduced the ALVIN Act.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s indictment is just the latest persecution of Donald Trump.
But some Congressional Republicans are finally making moves to stop partisan prosecutors from meddling in the 2024 election.
Andy Biggs (R-AZ) introduced legislation that would stop federal funds from reaching Bragg’s office.
The ALVIN Act – short for the Accountability for Lawless Violence In Our Neighborhoods Act – would require the woke District Attorney to repay any funds received after January 1, 2022.
“District Attorney Alvin Bragg ran on a campaign pledge to indict President Trump,” Biggs wrote in a statement. “Bragg took the unprecedented action of converting alleged minor business misdemeanors to 34 individual felonies to put President Trump behind bars and humiliate him and his supporters.”
But he did not stop there.
Biggs also introduced the No Federal Funds for Political Prosecutions Act, which would block any state or local law enforcement agency from using resources seized through asset forfeiture to prosecute a President, Vice President, or Presidential candidate in a criminal case.
Bragg has been accused of weaponizing his power and misusing federal taxpayer dollars to go after Trump while at the same time requesting millions of dollars in federal grants.
Biggs is troubled that Bragg is using taxpayer funds for a political investigation instead of addressing his city’s crime epidemic.
“As a member of the House Judiciary and Oversight & Accountability Committees, and with an almost insurmountable national debt that exceeds $31 trillion, the nation simply cannot afford to support Mr. Bragg’s politicization of the criminal justice system,” Biggs said.
In a tweet, Biggs wrote that “the ALVIN Act and the No Federal Funds for Political Prosecutions Act ensure that George Soros-funded and radical Leftist District Attorney Alvin Bragg is held accountable for misusing federal funds.”
DA Bragg's weaponized office has spent thousands of federal dollars to subsidize the political indictment of a former U.S. president and is demanding millions more in federal grants.
I won't let that continue and they will pay us back for what was used. https://t.co/x2nVxHgj91
