A construction site for a future police and fire training facility in Atlanta is facing a serious threat.
Violent anti-police extremists are doing everything they can to stop construction on the site.
And Marjorie Taylor Greene has a plan to stop violent far-Left extremists from terrorizing Atlanta.
Anti-cop militants attack construction site in southeast Atlanta
Rioters launched firebombs at construction equipment and law enforcement officers over the weekend in what the militants refer to as “Cop City.” City officials have announced charges against people from all over the United States as well as two foreign nationals.
The situation is getting out of control in southeast Atlanta as Antifa extremists have been pushing back on attempts to clear the park. Even though the police have been doing what they can to bring the situation to a heel, more clearly needs to be done.
That’s why Marjorie Taylor Greene is introducing a resolution that could weaken the group and bring extra law enforcement attention to their actions. Greene made her announcement in a tweet following a weekend of intense fighting.
“Antifa are domestic terrorists and I’m introducing my resolution to officially declare them a terrorist organization on Tuesday,” Greene wrote.
Many domestic terror charges stemming from Cop City riots
Listing Antifa as a terrorist organization would essentially stigmatize the group and reduce the number of people interested in joining. It would also create barriers for the group to get access to financial services as a way to reduce their capacity to riot.
It would also put more pressure on federal law enforcement agencies to crack down on the infamous group and shed light on any possible international involvement in the organization. At least two foreign nationals were charged for alleged terrorism crimes this past weekend.
This is not the first time domestic terrorism charges have been brought to rioters in Atlanta. In fact, at least 19 people have been arrested on domestic terror charges in Atlanta since December of last year.
Greene says that she’s tired of politicians pretending that this is just people protesting and rioting in Atlanta and that Antifa “should be taken seriously and not tolerated anymore.”
Antifa has been planning this deadly attack against the Atlanta government
“This is domestic terrorism. It was planned for weeks and announced on social media. Antifa are self-proclaimed communists and consistently organize to attack our government over and over again,” Greene says.
Lauren Boebert, a Republican from Colorado, will likely throw her support behind Greene’s resolution to declare Antifa a domestic terrorist group. Boebert has been a vocal critic of the media and lawmakers for ignoring the insurrections that Antifa leads in cities around the United States.
Boebert even introduced her own legislation in 2021 to declare Antifa a terrorist organization. Her efforts didn’t go far in a Congress that was mostly dominated by Democrats and their ideology.
But now Americans will see if Republicans have what it takes to get the job done on Antifa.
