The far-Left has increasingly taken on a radical posture where no dissent can be permitted.
Those who disagree are intimidated, threatened, or worse.
And Marjorie Taylor Greene just described how one radical leftist woman viciously attacked her in public.
Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was minding her own business while dining at a restaurant on Monday night when she was verbally attacked by a mother and her son.
According to Greene, the incident all started over a difference of political opinions.
She says that the two had no tolerance for opposing viewpoints.
“They had no respect for the restaurant or the staff or the other people dining or people like me who simply have different political views,” Greene tweeted. “They are self righteous, insane, and completely out of control.”
“I was sitting at my table, working with my staff, and never even noticed these people until they turned into demons,” Greene continued. “People used to respect others even if they had different views. But not anymore. Our country is gone.”
Nick Dyer, the Congresswoman’s spokesman, says that she was working with her staff on a plan for a committee hearing when the woman approached her table, introduced herself, and then turned belligerent.
“At that point her 20-year-old son started screaming expletives at the top of his lungs and came closer,” Dyer said. “I had to get in between him and the table because I had no clue what he’d do. More and more screaming by him while his mother continued to berate Marjorie.”
The restaurant’s staff eventually arrived at the table and demanded the woman and her son leave the establishment.
Intimidation and threats of violence against conservative politicians and pundits have escalated in recent years.
This is not surprising, as this behavior has been egged on by leftists, even those in Congress.
Maxine Waters (D-CA) infamously told her supporters to “get up in their faces” when describing Trump cabinet officials who opposed her policy.
Greene has faced other intimidation tactics from those who disagree with her.
A New York man called Joseph Morelli pleaded guilty earlier this month to making threatening phone calls to Greene’s office in Washington, D.C.
Morelli left several voicemail messages in March of 2022 that targeted Greene.
“I’m gonna have to take your life into my own hands … I’m gonna hurt you. Physically, I’m gonna harm you,” one voicemail said.
Despite unwise rhetoric from some irresponsible elected leaders like Waters, most Americans hope for swift penalties for those who threaten or engage in violence against elected officials.
Anything less could allow tense moments to spiral into something worse.
