Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is now the one whose conduct is an issue.
This is a complete reversal of fortune.
And Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) slapped Fani Willis with some bad news that will leave her in shambles.
Congresswoman Greene filed a complaint with the Georgia Ethics Commission against Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor on Willis’ RICO case against President Trump and whom she stands accused of carrying on an affair with.
Greene’s complaint alleges that Willis misused federal and state taxpayer money to hire Wade even though he is not qualified for the position and has never even tried a felony case before.
Willis also allegedly paid Wade a higher hourly rate than other prosecutors brought into the Trump case.
“Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis stands credibly accused of using Fulton County and federal COVID funds to pay her unqualified, secret boyfriend Nathan Wade – who has never tried a felony case – $250 per hour to collude with the Biden White House counsel and help Fani Willis bring unprecedented RICO felony charges against President Trump and 18 co-defendants,” Greene’s complaint read.
Willis paid Wade nearly $700,000 that he allegedly used to pay for the couple to go on cruises and take other lavish vacations to Napa Valley and Miami.
“Willis allegedly paid her secret boyfriend a significantly higher hourly rate than another one of her special prosecutors who actually has significant experience,” Greene’s complaint continued. “And with the nearly $700,000 Wade has collected in government funds as one of Willis’ special prosecutors, he has allegedly taken her on a luxury Caribbean cruise, a trip to Napa, and other lavish trips.”
Greene alleges that Wade and his law firm of Wade & Campbell violated the Georgia Campaign Finance Act by not registering as lobbyists and reporting gifts from him to Willis in the form of the airline and cruise ship tickets he purchased.
“For that reason, the Act requires that lobbyists report their efforts to sway the discretion of lawmakers, administrators, and district attorneys in the discharge of their duties. Registration and disclosure requirements shine light on the infamously crooked aims of lobbyists and hold accountable corrupt public officials,” Greene stated.
“On information and belief, Respondent Wade began lobbying Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on behalf of Wade & Campbell Law Firm in 2021,” Greene explained.
Willis’ case against Trump is imploding.
Willis had to invent a novel legal theory to bring a baseless, politically motivated indictment against Donald Trump.
And the supreme irony of the case could end up being that the only one who broke the law was Fani Willis.
