It’s difficult to find anyone who is honest and trustworthy about politics in today’s corporate-controlled media landscape.
Either most people are too inept to do the research on stories before they refute them or they are flat-out lying through their teeth.
Now Stephen Colbert just implied a Michigan voter was lying about this key issue and the angry voter is calling him out.
Former Democrat voter announces he will leave party over books in his school library
In a recent debate with Gretchen Whitmer, gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon told a story about a former Democrat that approached her at a rally.
Dixon explained to the audience, “He said: ‘I found content in my school library describing how to have sex to my son. I went to the Democrats, and I said, I cannot believe that this is in there.’”
This prompted the man, Khalil Othman, to announce, “I’m leaving the Democrat Party” because they “won’t stand up for our children and go back to the basics.”
Following the debate, Stephen Colbert decided he would weigh in on the subject.
“Fine. That happened,” he sarcastically said while using air quotes to mock the voter.
Colbert asks why anyone would go to the Democrats about sexually explicit books in schools
The late-night host went on to ask, “If someone found a book that they didn’t like at the school library, why would they go to Democrats?”
It’s a fair question because Colbert knows that the voter is right, and the radical Left won’t do anything about it.
Now Dixon and the voter are calling out Colbert for his monologue.
Othman told the Detroit Free Press in an interview that he was deeply offended by Colbert’s comments and “To claim that I’m not here, I don’t exist, I’m not human, that’s absolute ignorance.”
He said Colbert should have done “his due diligence and start researching” or at least have his team “do a little bit of research of who’s this person who attended Dixon’s rally.”
Othman said Colbert would have been able to “find my name right away easy on social media. Just Google it.”
Othman says “sexually explicit materials in school” are a “bridge too far”
He further explained that he has never voted Republican and has been loyal to the Democrat Party “ever since immigrating to this great country almost 20 years ago.”
Now Othman is switching parties because “the situation with the sexually explicitly material in schools” was for him “a bridge too far.”
He further stated, “When it comes to my kids and my family, I will not budge. Family before party!”
He went on to warn the Democrats that “Dearborn has been voting Democrat blue for the last decade or two . . . but not anymore.”
He claimed that the town will vote Republican “on behalf of myself and my family.”
Dixon took hold of the comments and blasted Colbert and Democrats for being out of touch with average Americans.
Dixon says normal Americans “don’t exist” and “aren’t important” to the Democrat Party
She said at a rally that Colbert made “this whole skit about how this never happened. That’s what he said, this story never happened. That’s where the Democrats are right now. You don’t exist, your stories are not important.”
This is a sentiment that is sweeping the nation as Democrats ignore the issues that voters care about and instead focus on climate change and so-called “social justice” issues.
Now it’s too late for Democrats to change their tune and soon they might just realize that you don’t mess with people’s kids.
