Mike Pence’s Presidential campaign struggled to get off the ground.
Pence took dead aim at one of Donald Trump’s core messages to the voters.
But that backfired because Mike Pence just got caught red-handed telling this insane lie.
Donald Trump’s America First foreign policy proved to be a big winner in the 2016 election and during his Presidency.
After decades of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, people rallied around Trump’s call to put a stop to endless wars.
Trump also became the first President in decades not to start any new wars.
Many conservatives suspect that Mike Pence is really running for President to get back in the good graces of the media and the Washington, D.C. Swamp.
Left-wing elites spent years pillorying Pence for defending Donald Trump, and by running for President on the issues that the ruling class cares most about, he will find himself welcomed back into polite society where he can spend his years serving on corporate boards and cashing in.
There are no two issues the elites care more about than the war in Ukraine and January 6.
And it’s no coincidence that Pence made attacking Donald Trump over what happened on January 6 and for opposing the war in Ukraine the main pillars of his campaign message.
In an interview with Breitbart, Pence offered complete and total support for the war effort in Ukraine by repeating a number of the falsehoods the establishment regularly deploys to sell this risky adventure to the American people.
Pence tried to counter the argument made by Trump and other conservatives that this war is not in America’s strategic interest with the usual nonsense about Russia overrunning Europe if they win in Ukraine.
“But supporting the Ukrainian military to repel and defeat the Russian invasion is in the interest of the United States of America, and it’s in the interest of freedom,” Pence began.
“I will tell you I have no doubt in my mind that if the Russian army was able to overrun Ukraine, it would not be too long before they crossed a border where, under our NATO charter, our American armed forces would be required to go and fight,” Pence added.
The Russian army failed to deliver a quick knockout blow in Ukraine.
And there is little evidence Russia is spoiling for a direct conflict with the United States and NATO, as it has not attacked any allied country for supplying weapons to Ukraine.
Pence then falsely claimed that fighting a war with Russia over Ukraine would deter Communist China from starting a war with America over Taiwan.
“If, as the leader of the free world, America is able to marshal that, continue to marshal the support to say, ‘we’re not going to let authoritarian regimes redraw international lines by force,’ I think that sends a definite message to [China’s] President Xi [Jinping] and China as they continue their military provocations in the Asia Pacific,” he said, contending it will cause China to “think twice about Taiwan or moving on anything else in the Asia Pacific.”
In reality, Joe Biden weakened America’s ability to deter Communist China by emptying the nation’s arsenal to fight Russia in Ukraine.
The weapons America needs to keep Communist China from conquering Taiwan – which would allow the Chinese to force the United States out of Asia and decimate the economy – are all being wasted in Ukraine.
That is immaterial to Pence.
The only thing that matters to Pence is restoring his reputation with the establishment.
