Luxury hotel stays are getting more expensive by the day.

Smart travelers are looking for ways to maximize value from their vacations.

And Omni Hotels just made one tropical change that has luxury travelers racing to book rooms.

Omni Hotels & Resorts launches Tiki-inspired cocktail experience

Omni Hotels & Resorts announced a major new amenity that will transform the summer vacation experience for their guests across the country.

The luxury hotel chain is debuting “Tiki Social,” a tropical pop-up bar experience in collaboration with renowned Tiki historian and cocktail expert Jeff “Beachbum” Berry.

Starting Memorial Day Weekend and running through Labor Day, guests at all Omni properties will be able to enjoy specially curated tropical cocktails designed to bring a taste of paradise to their summer stays.

Berry owns the critically acclaimed restaurant Latitude 29 in New Orleans and is considered one of the world’s foremost authorities on Tiki culture and tropical drinks.

“Tiki has always been about transporting people, if only for a moment, to someplace sunny, breezy, and far from the everyday,” Berry said in a statement released by Omni. “Working with Omni Hotels & Resorts on Tiki Social let us bring that sense of fun to all kinds of spaces, whether you’re lounging at a resort or ducking into a city bar after work. These drinks were designed to make every sip feel like a mini vacation.”

The timing couldn’t be better, as summer travel season kicks into high gear and Americans look for vacation experiences that offer something unique beyond the standard hotel stay.

Immersive tropical experience at select Omni properties

While all Omni properties will offer some of the Tiki-inspired cocktails at their lobby bars, eleven select locations are getting the full immersive Tiki Social experience.

These locations will feature transformed indoor and outdoor bar spaces that become vibrant tropical escapes with extended evening hours every Friday and Saturday. The pop-up experiences are open to both hotel guests and the public.

The full experience includes an expanded menu of eight original cocktails and two zero-proof drinks, all specially crafted by Berry in partnership with Omni’s expert bar team.

Michael Innocentin, Chief Marketing Officer at Omni Hotels & Resorts, explained the thinking behind the summer promotion.

“At Omni, we’re always looking for fresh ways to create memorable experiences for our guests, and Tiki Social is the perfect way to do just that,” Innocentin said. “It offers a unique, immersive way to celebrate the season and connect guests with the spirit of summer.”

Signature cocktails bring the tropical vibe

The Tiki Social menu includes several standout cocktails that go far beyond your standard hotel bar offerings.

One highlight is “The Coconutty Islander,” which is dramatically served in a fresh coconut. The drink features platinum rum, Coco Reàl, passion fruit liqueur, coconut water, lime, and macadamia liqueur.

Other creative options include “Mai Tai Have Another,” a play on the classic Tiki drink using gold rum, dark Jamaican rum, orgeat, orange, and lime, and “The Bitter Birdie,” which combines rum, Campari, pineapple liqueur, lime, and bitters.

For guests who don’t consume alcohol, the menu includes non-alcoholic options like the “Designated Diver” and the “Dry Tai,” a spirits-free twist on the beloved Mai Tai.

Where to experience the full Tiki Social transformation

The eleven Omni properties offering the full immersive Tiki Social experience span across the country, giving travelers multiple options for their summer getaways:

  • Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa (Fernandina Beach, FL);
  • Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park (Atlanta, GA);
  • Omni Berkshire Place (New York NY);
  • Omni La Costa Resort & Spa (Carlsbad, CA);
  • Omni Las Colinas Hotel (Irving, TX);
  • Omni Fort Worth Hotel (Fort Worth, TX);
  • Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate (Orlando, FL);
  • Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa (Frisco, TX);
  • Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa (Rancho Mirage, CA);
  • Omni San Diego Hotel (San Diego, CA); and
  • Omni Viking Lakes Hotel (Minneapolis, MN).

The Tiki Social experience is part of Omni’s broader strategy to enhance guest experiences across its portfolio of more than 50 properties throughout the United States and Canada.

For travelers looking to escape the everyday grind this summer, the promise of sipping a tropical cocktail while being transported to a paradise-like setting might be just what they need to click that “book now” button.

With inflation driving up the cost of everything from gas to groceries, smart travelers are looking for vacations that deliver extra value and unique experiences without breaking the bank. Omni’s Tiki Social appears to be capitalizing on this trend by offering a premium amenity that enhances the standard hotel stay.

Whether this tropical transformation will lead to a surge in bookings remains to be seen, but one thing is certain – the competition in the luxury hotel space just got a lot more colorful.
