Kamala Harris is doing a tightrope act running for President
Vice President Kamala Harris is running a Presidential campaign that’s based on good vibes and is short on policy.
One of the few policy positions that she’s taken is increasing the number of Border Patrol agents.
To get ahead of attacks on her dismal record as the “Border Czar,” one of the first commercials of Kamala’s campaign touted her desire to strengthen border security.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked the obvious question during a White House press briefing.
“How long have you guys known that Vice President Harris does not think that President Biden is effective with his border?” Doocy asked.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was stunned by the question.
“Wait, say that one more time?” a shocked Jean-Pierre replied.
“Well, she’s now promising to hire thousands more border agents than there are now under President Biden,” Doocy stated.
Jean-Pierre was caught off guard and asked him to repeat it again.
“How long have you guys known that Vice President Harris does not think that President Biden is effective with his border?” Doocy asked.
“I mean, you’re making a huge jump there,” Jean-Pierre stammered. “She did not say this. This is something that you are assuming. I don’t understand why you would assume that. it’s not true.”
“She has a campaign ad where she is saying they need more Border Patrol agents. If President Biden’s doing such a good job, why do they need any more agents?” Doocy replied.
The problem facing Kamala Harris’ campaign
Biden went out of his way to label his administration as the Biden-Harris administration.
Democrats and Kamala’s public relations team in the media are trying to portray her as the change candidate in the race.
She wants to act like she’s no longer a part of the Biden-Harris administration.
Kamala’s Election Year reinvention as someone who cares about border security is an attempt to ignore reality.
If the border is a problem, then why didn’t she do anything about it as “Border Czar?”
And why did she back the dozens of executive orders that dismantled former President Donald Trump’s successful border security policies?
She’s running for President to fix a problem that the administration she’s a part of created.
The only time that she or Biden pretended to care about border security was earlier this year when they realized that it was going to be a serious political vulnerability for their re-election campaign.
Despite having been in the race for nearly a month, Kamala has held off releasing any serious policy proposals for her campaign.
Anything she releases is going to raise the obvious question of why she isn’t doing something about it now.
