August 31 marked 26 years since Princess Diana tragically passed away in Paris, France.
But the public still cannot get enough of Princess Diana and the many lurid stories about her personal life, with new tell-alls and documentaries coming out every year.
But Prince Harry could not get out of bed after reading this devastating news.
Diana is still the people’s Princess – even 26 years after her death
On August 31, 1997, Diana Princess of Wales passed away following a high-speed chase in Paris, France.
26 years later and she is still the focus of countless documentaries, tell-alls, and other publications that describe her private life to the general public, who has an insatiable appetite for such material.
Just last Friday, it was revealed that an upcoming documentary titled, Diana: The Rest of Her Story, is scheduled to hit the public in the near future.
Additionally, it was announced that this documentary will feature never-before-heard tapes of Diana where she divulges details of her personal life, including her relationship with her immediate family.
Clips of the tapes have been featured on a number of widely viewed talk shows, including Good Morning America.
Royal expert and author of The King and The Day Diana Died, Christopher Andersen, recently spoke to Fox News Digital about these lurid tapes.
“Despite her global fame — she could arguably be called the most famous and celebrated woman of her time — Diana was in tremendous emotional pain,” Andersen said. “She was up against a thousand-year-old institution that was determined to thwart her every move, and the distress she felt can really be heard in her voice. And what a beautiful, elegant, hypnotic voice it is.”
He added that “I think it’s important that, when we look at Charles and [his wife] Camilla on the throne, we are reminded of the twists and turns history took to put them there. If it weren’t for Diana and the life she lived, we would not be half as interested in the Royal Family.”
As far as the tapes and their contents are concerned, it appears that the most salacious aspect includes conversations about Charles’ disappointment that baby Prince Harry was not a little girl.
Diana was heard saying that “because of Harry’s christening, Charles went up to mummy and said, ‘you know, we were so disappointed. We thought it would be a girl.’”
“And mummy snapped his head off,” she continued. “And she said, ‘you should realize how lucky you are to have a child that’s normal.’ Ever since that day, the shutters have come down. That’s what he does when he gets somebody to answer back at him.”
As it stands, the Royal Family faces tremendous pressure.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle continue to berate the monarchy.
Prince Andrew’s continued woes certainly do not help with the pressure King Charles faces as he prepares to commemorate the one-year anniversary of his mother’s passing followed by his accession to the throne on September 8.
