Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is the leader of the pro-Hamas faction of the Democrat Party.
After the October 7 terrorist attack on Israel, Tlaib took the lead in promoting Hamas propaganda on social media and in public speeches.
Biden’s reaction to the terrorist attack exposed the deep fissures in the Democrat Party, as his initial reaction was to stand with Israel.
Tlaib and large portions of younger Democrats wanted him to condemn them and side with the Palestinians.
Tlaib sent a message to Biden that the fissures in the Democrat Party over Israel are serious enough to cost him re-election unless he comes around to the Left’s position of excusing Hamas and unconditional support for the Palestinians.
In a video posted to social media, the message flashed “Mr. President, the American people are not with you on this one.”
Tlaib also accused Biden of being complicit in genocide.
But what concerned Democrats the most was Tlaib’s warning that “we will remember in 2024.”
In the 2020 election, Biden carried Michigan’s 10 Electoral College votes by 155,000 votes.
145,000 Muslims voted in Michigan that year.
Exit polls showed Biden won 69 percent of the Muslim vote.
Biden is already facing massive enthusiasm issues in 2024 with black and Hispanic voters.
If Muslim voters sit home because they think Biden is too friendly to Israel, then that may be too much for him to overcome.
Tlaib isn’t making an idol threat.
Massive pro-Hamas uprisings on college campuses and in Democrat run cities proved to be an eye-opening experience for many Americans.
The energy on the Left is clearly with the ascendant pro-Hamas wing of the Party.
Biden recognizes this, which is why he and many other prominent Democrats are starting to adopt the Hamas position of calling for a cease fire.
A cease fire would reward Hamas for killing civilians without facing any repercussions for their atrocities.
But Joe Biden knows that if your base isn’t with you, then it’s impossible to go out and court swing voters.
And Rashida Tlaib made it clear to Biden that he must come down on the side of Hamas in order to earn her vote in 2024.
