As the world waits on the edge of its seat for the next major development in the Israeli conflict, many Americans are espousing their take on the war.
The anti-Israel lobby has been condemning Israel for its retaliatory efforts to rid the Gaza Strip of the Hamas regime following the horrific terrorist attacks that unfolded on October 7.
But Rashida Tlaib’s jaw hit the floor after Marjorie Taylor Greene made this groundbreaking move.
Tlaib and her “Squad” allies have predictably rushed to the defense of Hamas
As war rages on in the Middle East, many Americans are doing their best to make sense of the constantly evolving nature of the various conflicts.
However, as soon as news broke of Hamas terrorists ransacking Israel, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and her far-Left colleagues rushed to the defense of Palestine and the brutal Hamas regime.
In fact, many on the Left have taken to the streets to protest what they call an “apartheid” regime, criticizing Israel for their retaliatory strikes on the Gaza Strip.
While speaking at a protest in Washington, D.C. last week, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib said “to my President, to our President, I want him to know, as a Palestinian American and somebody in Muslim faith, I’m not going to forget this. And I think a lot of people are not going to forget this.”
She added that “President Biden, not all Americans are with you on this one and you need to understand that. We are literally watching people commit genocide and killing the vast majority just like this, and we still stand by and say nothing. We will remember this.”
Protesters later swarmed the Capitol and occupied the rotunda where they chanted anti-Israel slogans, which led to multiple arrests.
In response, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced a formal motion in the House to censure Tlaib for her comments made at the protest.
Greene told Fox News Digital that “the [Democratic] Party has done nothing to hold her accountable. They’ve done nothing to rein her in, and no one else here has done it. And so I thought it was right to list examples of – this isn’t just new. This isn’t a one-off thing. This is exactly who she is.”
She added that “it should [have] a House Ethics investigation. [The House Administration Committee] should be investigating it. I think the Department of Justice, FBI should be investigating, even possibly the CIA.”
Nobody should be surprised by Rashida Tlaib’s opposition to Israel
Over the years, Tlaib and her cohorts in the “Squad” have been very vocal in their opposition to Israel.
Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and others have claimed that Israel runs an apartheid regime, often condemning them for their counter-terrorism efforts in the area.
Greene’s actions show that there are many in Congress who do not agree, but only time will tell whether or not a censure of Tlaib is feasible.
