Two-time Academy Award winner Richard Dreyfuss caused quite a stir recently.

The Left was furious over some non-woke comments he made.

And Richard Dreyfuss just said one thing that had the woke leftist crowd screaming in rage.

Everyone seemed to think actor Richard Dreyfuss was another woke leftist Hollywood actor.

An evening with Richard Dreyfuss

This past Memorial Day weekend, Richard Dreyfuss appeared at an event in Beverly, Massachusetts, called “An Evening with Richard Dreyfuss and Jaws Screening.”

Dreyfuss wasted no time shocking the crowd, as he showed up on stage with a dress covering his clothes.

Dreyfuss then let loose and delivered a rant that many woke left-wing activists called transphobic, sexist, and homophobic.

Some in attendance said Dreyfuss called Barbra Streisand a “genius.”

He also called women “passive” and said that’s why her movie Nuts “sucked.”

He then allegedly took on the “MeToo” movement and spoke out against paying attention to transgender youth.

While some of his fans were shocked and the woke cancel culture crowd was outraged, the fact is that Richard Dreyfuss has never been a fan of the political correctness that’s taken control of Hollywood.

Last year, Dreyfuss spoke with conservative host Glenn Beck of The Blaze and spelled out his beliefs.

Based on the negative response to the actor’s latest comments and the seeming outrage, his beliefs are something his fans clearly didn’t understand.

As Beck explained, “he was never a Hollywood insider. He’s here to sound the alarm, to protect the Constitution, to stir the healthy dissent, to protect the lone voice. He told me right before the podcast that I was the one who outed him in Hollywood.”

“It was one of the best things that’s happened to me”

“When I apologized, I didn’t realize that, he said, ‘No, no, it was one of the best things that’s happened to me,’” Beck continued. “He has been committed to nothing less than saving America.”

And this was confirmed by Dreyfuss himself.

Dreyfuss told Beck that “there are people who now think that opposing views are un-American. They don’t know that opposing views are entwined and threaded through the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and what we show to the world we believe in.”

Dreyfuss also noted that children don’t learn about history the way that they used to.

“I certainly think that when we allow our kids to tell us what is valuable and what is nurturing, we’re going to the wrong people,” he explained.

Dreyfuss gave Beck a real gem towards the end of the podcast.

It was a far cry from what fans angry at his performance over Memorial Day weekend believed about him.

“It infuriates me that people don’t understand what this place means, what an advance on human progress this country is all about, and how quickly we can abandon it without a second thought,” Dreyfuss said. “I once said that we hold this pearl in our hands, and then we think, ‘Yeah who cares,’ and we toss it away and it lands on the top of the stairs and we trip over it and we fall down through this state of constant decay — until we reach Donald Trump and the cheapening of every great thought, every great move that we gave to humanity. And it just kills me.”

“It’s beyond my ability to comprehend why people who are in a position to burnish our reputation make it filth, choose to make it filth. I just don’t get it,” he concluded.

Maybe his fans should actually listen to him instead of trying to silence him.

Then they might actually learn something.
