If you poke a bear long enough, it will eventually fight back with a vengeance.

Conservatives are teaching this lesson to Jack Smith.

And Special Counsel Jack Smith’s 37-count indictment sent Donald Trump’s campaign contributions through the roof.

Trump raised millions of dollars in just a few days

“Since deranged Jack Smith took the unprecedented step of weaponizing the justice system to attack his political opponent, Donald J. Trump for President 2024 has raised more than $6.6 million in just a few short days,” Trump’s campaign wrote in a statement. “In a clear sign of the steadfast support President Donald J. Trump enjoys from grassroots Patriots across the nation, over $4.5 million has been raised from digital fundraising, with an additional $2.1 million raised at President Trump’s event at Bedminster last night.”

Merrick Garland hand-picked Jack Smith to investigate Trump over the alleged mishandling of classified documents and for the events on January 6.

Prosecutor has a history of partisan hackery

It didn’t take much digging to reveal that Smith is a leftist partisan hack.

Some of his greatest hits include his involvement in the Obama-era IRS scandal.

After Obama’s election, Lois Lerner, then-director of the IRS’s Exempt Organizations Unit, launched a campaign aimed at Tea Party groups and conservative nonprofit organizations.

Smith urged DOJ officials to engage with Lerner, which led to the IRS providing the FBI with extensive tax records of nonprofit organizations.

He also led biased investigations against Republicans that resulted in convictions being overturned due to misconduct.

“The American people will not stand for this corrupt attempt to interfere in the 2024 election against the leading candidate for President who will demolish the Deep State and finish the job of draining the Swamp,” Trump’s campaign wrote. “Universal polling both nationally and statewide has shown President Trump holding insurmountable leads and is the only candidate who can beat Joe Biden in a general election.”

While some of that can be dismissed as campaign bluster, it’s not completely off the mark.

The latest Real Clear Politics polling average shows Donald Trump leading a General Election contest against Biden by two points.

Polling averages also show Florida Governor Ron DeSantis leading Joe Biden by 1.2%.
