The Left’s woke ideology is taking over virtually every institution in America.
But conservatives are starting to fight back.
And Ted Cruz embarrassed this woke leftist who refused to admit the obvious about men and women.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate held a hearing on “Protecting Pride: Defending the Civil Rights of LGBTQ+ Americans.”
Competitive swimmer Riley Gaines attended the hearing.
Gaines became nationally famous when she objected to biological male Lia Thomas participating in women’s sports.
Her opposition sparked a national conversation about whether it is fair to allow biological men to compete against biological women.
Gaines: My experience shows that there are differences between men and women
“Let me ask you as someone who competed at the elite level, in your experiences, is there a difference between women and men?” Ted Cruz (R-TX) asked Gaines.
“Of course, I think we learned this from a very young age, watching even 12-and-unders play,” Gaines replied. “Going through puberty causes an irreversible advantage that, no matter the training, no matter the diet, no matter any alterable change you can make, will overcome that male advantage, especially in sports like swimming, where lung capacity matters so much.”
Also at the meeting was Human Rights Campaign President Kelley Robinson.
The Human Rights Campaign is a radical organization that labels itself as “America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality and liberation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people.”
“Do you agree with Miss Gaines that there’s a difference between women and men?” Cruz asked Robinson.
Anything to dance around an idea that they can’t sell
Robinson tried to steer the conversation away from the subject by asking Cruz “if the question is about trans women?”
“I’m just asking, is there a difference between women and men?” Cruz replied.
“What I can say is that the NCAA has rules in place,” Robinson said. “They’ve had rules in place for the last decade.”
Cruz then pressed Robinson harder.
“I’m going to try again, do you believe there’s a difference between women and men?” Cruz said. “It’s a yes/no question. Do you believe there’s a difference between women and men? Most people could answer this very simply, I’m curious if you’re willing to do so.”
Robinson again tried to evade the question by talking about “definitions relating to sex.”
“So you’re not answering, let me ask you this question then, why do women’s sports exist?” Cruz responded, before asking “if you can’t find a difference between women and men, why not abolish women’s sports and just tell little girls to swim with little boys and see who wins? If there’s no difference between women and men, why have women’s sports?”
Robinson told Cruz she’s only “saying that there’s a difference between sex and gender and that the NCAA has rules in place which they have for the last decade.”
Cruz then entered an article into the record from Duke Law indicating men had a clear physical advantage in competitive sports.
Robinson looked far worse in the exchange.
This is a textbook example of how showcasing the Left’s radicalism can be an effective way to expose the absurdity behind the woke ideology.
