The problems keep piling up for the Biden regime with no end in sight.
Yet they can’t seem to help but make matters worse by creating even more problems all on their own.
And now the Biden regime was left scrambling after Joe Biden’s own words were used against them.
The Biden regime’s hypocrisy on full display
Over the holiday weekend, when they thought no one would notice, the Biden regime quietly made a move that left both conservatives and left-wing radicals equally confused.
The regime granted California-based oil company Chevron a license to resume drilling operations in Venezuela, rolling back Trump-era sanctions designed to limit the money going to the nation’s socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro.
On the one hand, the world, but particularly American oil companies, need to be increasing their oil production capabilities, as the current energy crisis continues to hang over everyone’s heads.
On the other hand, sending American oil companies to foreign nations to drill simply keeps America from becoming energy independent, while using American resources to increase energy production for foreign nations, who also reap the benefits of the revenue it produces.
At the same time, left-wing radicals don’t exactly know how to respond – President Joe Biden and Democrats have made ending fossil fuels completely a central tenet of their pitch to voters, and yet it seems that only applies to the United States, as Biden and his pals continue to be totally fine with drilling in foreign nations.
That led Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy to grill the National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator, John Kirby, over the Biden regime’s hypocrisy.
“Why is it that President Biden would rather let U.S. companies drill for oil in Venezuela than here in the U.S.?” Doocy asked Kirby.
Of course, like every other Democrat any time they’re questioned, Kirby claimed Doocy’s line of questioning was “not an accurate take on the President’s view.”
But Doocy came prepared, and proceeded to use President Biden’s own words from earlier this month, when he explicitly promised “no more drilling” to show that it was, in fact, the President’s view.
Regurgitating debunked talking points
That left Kirby with apparently no other choice than to repeat the Biden regime’s debunked talking point that American oil companies were not using 9,000 permits issued by the regime.
“The President has issued 9,000 permits for drilling on U.S. federal lands — 9,000 of them are being unused,” Kirby falsely claimed.
Undeterred, Doocy continued to press Kirby by asking, “Does the President think there’s some benefit to the climate to drill oil in Venezuela and not here?”
But Kirby simply refused to acknowledge reality, and proceeded to claim that the regime’s decision to drill in Venezuela “has nothing to do” with the climate, before spouting the regime’s debunked permit talking point once again.
“Again, there are 9,000 unused permits here in the United States on federal land that oil and gas companies can and should take advantage of — 9,000,” Kirby again falsely claimed. “And we’re talking about one there in Venezuela.”
As TheBlaze pointed out, it’s simply not true that President Biden has issued 9,000 drilling permits.
“That number, in fact, comprises permits issued under Biden and former President Donald Trump,” TheBlaze reported. “But it is also not true that just because an oil company is not immediately drilling where a permit has been approved that companies are not working to utilize them. A lease approval indeed does not even mean the land for which a lease has been approved will reliably produce oil.”
“But if the land is suitable for oil production, companies have to find, acquire, and develop that oil — a process that includes more regulatory red tape,” the report concluded.
Even when they’re confronted with President Biden’s own words, the Biden regime still refuses to acknowledge the utter hypocrisy of their radical left-wing agenda.
