The world was shocked on July 13 when a would-be assassin nearly killed Donald Trump.

But the shooter did kill one hero.

And the coroner’s report on this hero’s death will have you in tears.

Fire Chief and Dad

Four people were shot at the July 13 Trump rally.

Donald Trump and two others survived, but one man tragically died.

A 50-year-old retired Fire Chief was hit in the head when the assassin managed to fire a volley of eight shots at Trump.

Corey Comperatore was an adamant Trump supporter.

He was glad to be at the rally with his wife and two daughters.

Comperatore served in the Butler County volunteer Fire Department for years and was named as their Chief.

He also served 10 years in the Army reserve, but was also a project and tooling engineer at JSP plastic manufacturing.

He had been married and raised two daughters.

He was a dedicated family man, and that is probably what cost him his life.

As soon as shots were fired, he threw himself between the shooter and his family.

He Used His Body as a Shield

“He’s a literal hero. He shoved his family out of the way, and he got killed for them,” Mike Morehouse, who lived next to Comperatore for the last eight years said. “He’s a hero that I was happy to have as a neighbor.”

The Butler County Coroner released his final report on Comperatore’s death on August 8.

He died from a single bullet to the head.

Thousands of people came to the public viewing to show their support for his surviving family.

Pictures of Comperatore were shown of him playing with his kids, his dogs, and fishing.

Also on display was a letter of condolence from President Trump.

Donald Trump also praised Comperatore during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.

Several sources said that Comperatore was a great “girls dad” as well as a loving husband.

In his obituary, the family wrote that “above all, Corey was the quintessential family man and the best girl dad. His love for his wife Helen Comperatore was a testament to the power of partnership and devotion. Together, they raised two daughters, Allyson and Kaylee Comperatore, who will carry forward his spirit of compassion.”

The shooter and Comperatore were the only two killed at the rally.

Trump was struck in the ear, but miraculously the wound was not severe.

The event is seen as an absolute disaster for the Secret Service.

The person who served as the Director at the time of the shooting has since resigned.

Several Congressional hearings have been held on the security failures and the agency has been under blistering bipartisan attack.

Because the attack involved a former President, the crime is considered a federal offense.
