Democrats got some more bad news.
Conservatives were celebrating.
And it’s all because the Supreme Court crushed Democrats with this blockbuster ruling.
Democrats got a wake-up call on the issue of abortion.
After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade with the Dobbs decision, left-wing activists began filing lawsuits at the state level to undo Pro-Life protections.
Georgia’s heartbeat bill, which protected life starting at six weeks, became a prime target of the pro-abortion radicals.
But the law isn’t on their side.
The Supreme Court held in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case that the issue of abortion was to be settled at the state level.
Without Roe v. Wade limiting the ability of state legislatures to protect life, the Georgia Supreme Court correctly ruled the state’s heartbeat bill passed muster.
Pro-Life activists cheered the decision.
Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser noted that half the country now had Pro-Life protections on the books to stop the horror of abortion on demand.
“Today’s Georgia Supreme Court decision ensures that tens of thousands of children with beating hearts will continue to be protected from brutal abortions. It is the latest vindication of the will of Georgians, who have compassion for both babies and mothers, along with lawmakers like Governor Kemp and many others who heard them and acted,” Dannenfelser stated.
Democrats claim to be the party of science.
But on the issue abortion they ignore the fact that science shows life begins at conception and that the Left wants to abort babies at a point in the pregnancy where they have a more than 90 percent chance of survival.
“Twenty-five states – half the country – have pro-life protections in their law in the new Dobbs era. The majority of these states protect unborn children at least when their heartbeat can be detected, a point when science shows they have more than a 90% chance of surviving to birth,” she added. “We congratulate Governor Kemp, Attorney General Carr, all our local allies, and the people of Georgia on a long and well-fought battle. Life is winning in hearts and minds nationwide. When you lead and stand boldly for life, Americans will stand with you,” Dannenfelser added.
Democrats think abortion is a winning issue for them in 2024.
But that’s only true if Republicans refuse to fight on the issue and pretend like it doesn’t exist.
GOP candidates can hammer Democrats on the fact that they ignore science to push a radical agenda of supporting abortion up until the moment of birth.
