They once called themselves the “tolerant Left.”
But now the Left has become the very thing they claim to abhor.
And the wife of this black conservative GOP Congressman is now denouncing racist attacks from the Left.
For decades the Left has claimed they stand against all things racist, sexist, and intolerant.
But these days in their efforts to usher in a warped socialist “utopia” they have changed their tune.
The most racist attacks are always from the Left
Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) has become a leader in the new GOP-controlled House.
He is also a key conservative voice, leading the charge for restoring the Constitution.
And Congressman Donalds also happens to be black.
That in itself has caused the expected catcalls of “Uncle Tom” from the radical, racist leftists.
Because of course to them, no minority could ever be anything other than rabid leftist, and any who are must be unable to think for themselves.
Nothing could be further from the truth of course.
But even worse to the socialists, Byron Donalds happens to be married to a white woman.
While many would mistakenly think the couple has run into racism in the south from “white rednecks,” in fact it has been the Left who has been the worst.
“Byron and I have been together for 23+ years, and the most racist attacks we experience are always from the Left,” Erika Donalds wrote in a recent Tweet.
“Cry harder, haters”
Erika Donalds, who is white, tweeted screenshots of online users attacking her over her skin color.
The Congressman’s wife was pushing back on the racially motivated online attacks that have been launched over her marriage to the black Republican lawmaker.
The fiery wife of the Florida Republican denounced the “racist attacks” she and her husband endure from the Left, telling the “haters” to “cry harder.”
“They can’t accept that a free-thinking black man achieves success on his own merits, and they sure as heck can’t stand that he’s married to me!” Donalds continued. “Cry harder, haters.”
The screenshots Donalds in her tweets included attacks on her based solely on her race, with one user writing that she had looked up the Republican Congressman and then said she “should have known your wife was white.”
“I’m not a racist but . . .”
“I’m not a racists (sic), but . . .” the user wrote in the post Mrs. Donalds’ race.
“Surprise surprise, his wife is . . . nevermind,” another user wrote. A third user tweeted out, “No surprise he has a snowflake for a wife.”
“I’m embarrassed and ashamed,” a fourth user wrote. “Seen his wife? I’m not surprised.”
Other users attacked Donalds as a “prop” — similar to the charge made by Democrat Congresswoman Cori Bush of Missouri against the black Republican Congressman
Another racist “progressive” asked if Erika was failed Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker’s “wife.”
A spokesperson for Donalds told Fox News Digital “the Congressman stands by his wife and denounces the blatant racism being thrown at them.”
The attacks come right as Donalds gets a seat on the influential House Republican Steering Committee, which determines committee assignments.
Donalds was among a group of 20 conservative Republicans who refused to vote for Kevin McCarthy.
He voted for Congressman Jim Jordan, (R-OH), before his fellow Republicans nominated him for the role.
