Democrats have made clear that the next big ticket item on their radical wishlist is blanket amnesty for all illegal aliens.
For years they’ve thought that completely transforming America’s election map would ensure they retain power indefinitely.
But this bombshell poll of Hispanic voters has Democrats in an absolute pretzel.
A wake up call for the Left?
According to a new poll conducted by the Trafalgar Group, roughly 60% of likely voters oppose Democrats’ plan to give blanket amnesty to illegal aliens, including those who claim to be seeking asylum.
At the same time, just 14% indicated that they support Democrats’ plan for blanket amnesty, while just 15% said that only those seeking asylum should be granted amnesty.
The fact that 86% of Americans aren’t on board with Democrats’ plan for blanket amnesty is obviously not the results Democrats were looking for as they prepare to force amnesty on the American people.
But as it turns out, that’s the least of their problems.
As a matter of fact, that same Trafalgar Group poll found that 55% of likely Hispanic voters oppose amnesty for both illegal aliens and those seeking asylum.
Worst of all, only 3% of likely Hispanic voters indicated that they support Democrats’ plan for blanket amnesty for both illegal aliens and asylum seekers.
Meanwhile, 23% said only those claiming asylum should receive amnesty, and roughly 18% were unsure.
The timing couldn’t be worse
Of course, this poll comes on the heels of multiple efforts by politicians to spark a grassroots firestorm to push amnesty into law.
Supposed former Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) has been hard at work in Washington, D.C. attempting to form a “bipartisan coalition” around a bill that would give blanket amnesty to illegal aliens and asylum seekers while renewing the decades-old promise of securing the border at some point.
At the recent global elitist gathering at the World Economic Forum, Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL) also called on Americans to support “dignity” for illegal aliens, which is nothing more than a ruling class codeword for amnesty.
But as the Trafalgar Group poll proved, such a bill that would give the upwards of 22 million illegal aliens already in the U.S. blanket amnesty isn’t what the American people want.
What’s more, not even Hispanic voters want blanket amnesty for all illegal aliens.
Maybe Democrats should just take a pause and ask themselves whether or not this level of disconnect with voters, much less Hispanic voters, is likely why Hispanic voters have been trending towards Republicans in recent years.
But with Democrats’ entire strategy for giving themselves power indefinitely revolving almost exclusively around forcing amnesty into law, it could just end up blowing up in their faces.
And quite frankly, that would be the greatest dose of irony imaginable.
