No two things say America like The Star-Spangled Banner and BBQ.

But American football has to be on the list somewhere.

And this NFL Hall of Famer put one woke woman in her place after she complained about the National Anthem.

Hall of Famer Joe Thomas Got into BBQ

Joe Thomas was an offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns for 11 seasons.

He was a unanimous All-American in college and went to the Pro-Bowl in the first 10 seasons he played.

He never missed a play until his final season when he was injured.

His record for playing for so many consecutive snaps still stands today.

Despite being on a losing team that never went to the playoffs, he went on to be a commentator on television and was widely respected for his hard work ethic and great personality.

Joe Knows BBQ

In 2016, Thomas became a partner with Mission Barbecue.

Not only has he become a spokesman for the restaurant, but he’s also one of the top-level cooks in the barbeque world.

He raised eyebrows in 2018 when he used a flamethrower to finish cooking some of his meat masterpieces.

Like many barbeque joints, Mission Barbecue has a conservative fan base and likes to show their support for the military and first responders.

Mission Barbeque has raised over $25 million for causes that benefit  disabled veterans and first responders and their families.

Everything Stops at Noon

At Mission BBQ restaurants, everything stops at noon.

At 12 PM, everyone is invited to stand and they begin playing the National Anthem.

This has become a cherished tradition for many of its patrons.

Some call it the best two minutes of their day.

Patriotism runs deep at Mission Barbeque and nearly everyone loves it.

But this one woke woman showed up and took to social media to complain about the Star-Spangled Banner.

“I was in this restaurant minding my own business and all the white people stood up and did this s***,” the woman wrote as a screen caption on the video.

The woman remained seated during the National Anthem and mocked everyone else for standing.

Joe Thomas tweeted that  “I’m sorry you were offended by your country’s National Anthem…hopefully you enjoyed the brisket at least!!”

Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele noted that the playing of the national anthem occurs every day at noon at the Mission BBQ restaurants,” Fox News reported. “The restaurant says it has helped raise more than $20 million for national and local charities, including the USO, the Honor Flight Network, Wreaths Across America, and more.”

“This took place at a @MissionBBQ . . . and it happens EVERY SINGLE DAY at noon at every one of their restaurants across the country!!  It’s incredible to witness & participate,” Steele wrote on X.
