Conservatives have always found comfort, inspiration, and common ground in country music.
But new artists are taking it to the next level.
And this song is the next great conservative anthem that the Left will hate.
Although the title might be cleverly worded, the entirety of Oliver Anthony’s new song, Rich Men North of Richmond, is about how blue-collar workers have had enough of the politicians in Washington, D.C.
Some of the lyrics are “these rich men north of Richmond, Lord knows they all just want to have total control. Wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do. And they don’t think you know, but I know that you do. Cause your dollar ain’t s**t, and it’s taxed to no end. ‘Cause of rich men north of Richmond.”
The new country tune, which currently has almost 3 million views on YouTube, takes aim at big government, taxation, and privacy infringement.
But the song goes on to say that “I wish politicians would look out for miners, and not just minors on an island somewhere,” which appears to be a low-key jab at convicted child sex-offender Jeffrey Epstein and his offshore retreat for unsavory behavior.
It seems like this song comes from the heart, as Oliver Anthony is a farmer from Virginia and his viral video features him sitting in the woods with his guitar and three dogs.
A representative from his record label, Radio WV, said that “Oliver wants to give hope to the working class and your average hard working young man who may have lost hope in the grind of trying to get by.”
When Anthony shared his song to his twitter, he expressed his surprise and excitement about the love and positive response his song has gotten since its release.
He said he uses music as an outlet to express his feelings, and based on the overwhelming number of YouTube comments, his lyrics clearly struck a chord with many Americans.
Take a listen to Rich Men North of Richmond if you’re in need of an antidote to the woke, anti-America garbage you’ll hear on most radio stations these days.
It harkens back to the Hank Williams, Jr. era of country music and addresses the current crisis facing many working-class Americans.
With his new single, Anthony allows country music to continue to do what it’s always done for the hard-working folks in America.
It lets them know they’re not alone in their fight for the American dream.
