Conservatives celebrated when Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the Presidential election.
Many people have said that Kamala Harris is nothing more than a DEI hire that’s been propped up by the media.
But Thomas Sowell warned conservatives not to get comfortable ahead of the election.
Republicans unite against Kamala Harris by calling her a DEI candidate
After weeks of slamming Kamala Harris as a “DEI candidate,” a prominent conservative thinker is issuing a warning to voters.
According to Thomas Sowell, Kamala Harris may go down as the worst Vice President in U.S. history, but that won’t stop her from winning.
As soon as the Vice President became the presumptive nominee, Republicans went on the attack.
Trump communications director Steven Cheung called her “dumb as a rock.”
Harriet Hageman (R-WY) described her as “intellectually, just really kind of the bottom of the barrel – I think she was a DEI hire.”
When asked about @KamalaHarris candidacy, @HagemanforWY calls @VP a “DEI hire.”

Tim Burchett (R-TN) pointed to the media’s complicity in the Biden-Harris administration and noted it will only continue.
“The media propped up the President, lied to the American people for three years, and then dumped him for our DEI Vice President,” he said.
The incompetency level is at an all-time high in Washington. The media propped up this president, lied to the American people for three years, and then dumped him for our DEI vice president. pic.twitter.com/3zJhJBsB4j

But conservative author Thomas Sowell is pointing to major concerns.
Thomas Sowell: Conservatives need to take this “honeymoon response” more seriously
In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Sowell warned that Republicans are getting too comfortable with Kamala Harris as Trump’s opponent.
“Many Republicans seem confident they will win this year’s election,” he said, before adding that we were also promised a “red wave” in the midterms.
Sowell pointed to the use of the phrase “honeymoon response” by commentators when discussing Kamala’s polling as a cause for concern.
The problem is that we need to squash this so-called honeymoon phase with credible arguments before mail in voting begins.
“If the Republicans do not discredit what she claims within the month, the votes she gets will be fixed – even if Republicans completely demolish her claims later on,” he warned.
Sowell said that “even if most voters would prefer Donald Trump”on Election Day, the early voters will still swing for Kamala.
That’s why he believes it’s time for people to stop attacking Kamala’s character and start putting pressure on her policy positions.
It’s time “to refute what Ms. Harris says – when she says it”
Sowell said that the situation Trump finds himself in is very similar to that of Ronald Reagan.
“The fact is that a similar situation existed back in the days when Ronald Reagan won two consecutive Presidential elections by landslides,” he said.
Sowell said Trump was also up against a biased media, but warned that he didn’t win his races with personal attacks.
“[Reagan] did it by addressing the voting public as if they were adults who could understand an issue – if you explained it to them in plain English, instead of in political jargon or snappy quips,” he wrote.
He added that it’s time “to refute what Ms. Harris says . . . when she says it.”
“Waiting to refute what she says, until after millions of early voters have already voted, makes no sense,” he wrote.
Sowell is urging Republican influencers and voters to stop “denouncing and ridiculing” Kamala Harris and start explaining why she is a failed candidate.
