Americans are outraged over Fox News Channel’s latest move
Since 2016, Tucker Carlson has dominated the political talk show universe.
Tucker has enjoyed sky-high ratings and his program was easily the most-popular show on Fox News.
A recent Rasmussen poll showed “fifty-nine percent (59%) of likely U.S. voters have a favorable impression of Carlson, including 36% who have a very favorable opinion of him.”
“Fox News is viewed favorably by 52% of voters, including 24% with a very favorable opinion,” Rasmussen reported. “After being ousted from his prime-time show at Fox News Channel, commentator Tucker Carlson is more popular than the network that fired him — especially among conservatives and Republican voters.”
The numbers do not lie.
And the numbers show voters like Tucker Carlson more than Fox News Channel.
Although this decision by Fox News Channel seems very odd, this is not the first time they have made a move like this.
Talk-show hosts Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly were similarly fired at the peak of their careers with little to no explanation.
Fox News Channel has a history of ditching their stars when they are shining the brightest.
It has not severely hurt them yet.
But Fox News has not announced a full time replacement for Tucker Carlson and his coveted prime-time slot.
As far as Tucker Carlson is concerned, he has spoken out a few times since his departure.
Most notably, he released a statement on Twitter giving fans a little more insight on what happened.
“True things prevail,” Carlson said in a video he posted to Twitter. “Where can you still find Americans saying true things? There aren’t many places left. But there are some, and that’s enough. As long as you can hear the words, there’s hope.”
Americans are losing faith in media
In recent years, Americans have completely lost faith in the mainstream media.
Whether it be Fox News dropping its most-popular host or other networks proliferating falsehoods and distortions, Americans are running out of places to find real news.
Fox News is under intense pressure to fill the prime-time slot with someone who can get even a fraction of the viewership Carlson was able to rack up.
