Ron DeSantis is trying to reboot his flailing Presidential campaign by sitting for more interviews.

That strategy quickly created a new controversy.

And what Ron DeSantis told Megyn Kelly about Joe Biden arresting Trump took everyone by surprise.

DeSantis keeps walking in and out of trouble with his comments about Joe Biden and Democrat prosecutors arresting Trump.

Conservatives were furious when DeSantis suggested Donald Trump sat back and watched the events of January 6 unfold and should have taken more forceful action.

DeSantis then found himself in hot water after a major donor admitted that the campaign’s strategy was to hope that Democrats indicting Donald Trump would knock him out of the race.

Now DeSantis is facing criticism from conservatives for his answer to a question from Megyn Kelly about whether or not he would pardon Donald Trump.

Not only did DeSantis refuse to commit to doing so, but his answer also heavily implied that Trump was guilty and that it would not be good for the country for an “80-year-old” former President to die in prison.

Conservative journalist Julie Kelly picked up on the subtle manner in which DeSantis tried to use Trump’s legal woes against him and called out the Governor for his comments.

“This is a terrible answer with a low-key shot at Trump’s age. No forceful argument about the brazen weaponization of DOJ against Trump and his supporters. This is an unprecedented trajectory that has nothing to do with his age or Nixon or what’s “best” for the country,” Kelly wrote on social media.

All of Trump’s rivals face a dilemma.

Trump is by far and away the frontrunner, and polls show Republican voters understand that these indictments and criminal charges are all politically motivated shams to influence the outcome of the next election.

But without some type of race-altering event, DeSantis and others know they will lose.

That’s why they are trying to avoid sounding like they’re on the side of Jack Smith while also trying to give GOP voters a hint that they should move on from Trump.
