Every kid dreams of catching a foul ball or having one of their favorite athletes hand them a glove.

But there are always those adults who put themselves before others.

And a top golf star intervened after a greedy fan almost ruined this kid’s day.

Golf fans will not forget this year’s PGA Championship

The highly anticipated PGA Championship took place last weekend, with Xander Schauffele winning a close matchup against Bryson DeChambeau.

Xander Schauffele defeated Bryson DeChambeau with a single stroke and proved that golf really is a game of inches.

But rather than mope away, Bryson DeChambeau went out of his way to brighten the day of a young golf fan.

Footage shows DeChambeau throwing his golf ball to the young fan before a man comes over and snatches it away from the youngster.

Video then shows Bryson DeChambeau running over to the adult who swiped the ball away and demanding he return it to the young fan.

After some convincing, the man comes back and hands the youngster the ball.

At the end of the day, it is hard to feel bad for DeChambeau, who walked away with an eye-popping cash prize of $1,998,000.

For comparison, Xander Schauffele walked away with $3.3 million, which is a solid $1.3 million more than DeChambeau earned for simply performing one stroke better.

However, this thrilling competition for first place was not the talk of the PGA Championship.

In the early morning on Friday, law-enforcement officers pronounced a 69-year-old man, John Mills, deceased after a shuttle bus fatally struck him.

This tragic incident caused law-enforcement officers to shut down the scene and block the entrance to the course.

Not wanting to be late, 27-year-old golfing legend Scottie Scheffler attempted to drive past the shutdown.

This prompted an officer to tell Scheffler to wait.

Instead, Scheffler drove off as the officer clung on for dear life.

Police quickly arrested Scheffler and charged him with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding signals from an officer directing traffic.

Fortunately, the officer involved only suffered minor injuries.

However, Scheffler faces considerable legal trouble for this incident.

Nonetheless, Scheffler bailed out of jail in time to make it for his second round.

At the end of the tournament, Scheffler finished in 8th place.

There was not a dull moment at this year’s PGA Championship

Most golf fans would agree that this year’s PGA Championship was one for the books.

Between Scheffler’s shocking arrest and the exciting finish, fans will not forget this tournament anytime soon.

Scheffler’s arrest shows the importance of following directions and not taking the law into your own hands.
