Leftists are colliding after PETA declared war against this Democrat Mayor of a dark blue city

It’s next to impossible for anyone to live by the radical Left’s ever-changing rules of politically-correct faux paus and supposed “microaggressions.”

Even Democrat politicians are starting to learn that there is no pleasing their extreme base.

And now leftists are colliding after PETA declared war against this Democrat Mayor of a dark blue city.

When the Left eats its own

Eric Adams is the Democrat Mayor of New York City.

He’s the open-borders Mayor who continues to support the Big Apple’s so-called “sanctuary city” policies.

Mayor Adams is so left-wing that he’s even toying with the idea of settling illegal aliens in people’s homes.

And then there’s one of the most extreme activist groups in existence, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

No sane people object to combating animal abuse, but PETA believes almost anything a human does to an animal is “abuse.”

Eating an animal that was born and bred to feed humans, testing a medical cure on an animal, wearing clothes made from fur to stay warm, and even just owning a pet are all abuse in the eyes of PETA.

“If people want toys, they should buy inanimate objects,” PETA’s co-founder, Ingrid Newkirk, told Animals magazine in 1993. “If they want companionship, they should seek it with their own kind.”

“In the end, I think it would be lovely if we stopped this whole notion of ‘pets’ altogether,” Newkirk told Newsweek in 1988.

And now the radical organization is targeting the Democrat Mayor in a battle of the leftists.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams vs. PETA

Like many major metropolitan areas run for decades by Democrats, New York City has a rat problem.

Not a figurative problem with corrupt politicians – the Big Apple has that too – but it also is facing a literal problem with rodents.

According to Orkin, Gotham has the third largest rodent infestation issue in the country, behind only Chicago and Los Angeles.

When Mayor Adams learned that his city would be hosting the National Urban Rat Summit, he responded by stating that he “hates rats.”

It’s a common feeling – but one that PETA will not stand for.

Upon hearing Mayor Adams’ condemnation of these plague-carrying vermin, PETA issued a scathing article targeting the Mayor of New York City.

PETA shamed Adams for “demonizing” rats.

“Instead of trash-talking rats, Mayor Adams should focus on clearing New York’s streets of the massive heaps of garbage attracting them in the first place,” PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said. “PETA is calling on Adams to stop villainizing rats for a problem created by humans and to address this issue with respect and understanding.”

Reiman isn’t necessarily wrong – the Big Apple looks more like the Big Landfill since Rudy Guiliani left office.

However, they’re right for the wrong reasons.

Rat Lives Matter

The article went on to call for rat birth control in the place of things like glue traps and rat poisons.

Furthermore, PETA delivered what they call an “empathy kit” to the Mayor.

The package included a pamphlet about PETA, a flier to “end speciesism,” and a “rats have rights” mug.

PETA’s defense of disease-carrying creatures is interesting considering how PETA shelters treat lost, abandoned, and abused dogs and cats.

The fact is that PETA would literally rather kill animals than allow them to be pets.

A group called PETA Kills Animals obtained records that proved PETA animal shelters killed more than 2,000 dogs and cats in 2022 alone.

And the documents further showed that PETA has murdered more than 47,000 animals since 1998.

PETA’s practice of killing rescue pets is a step in the direction of fulfilling Newkirk’s goal of ending pet ownership, which she described in 1988 as “an abysmal situation.”
