Nancy Pelosi just launched an unhinged attack on the Supreme Court

Nancy Pelosi never misses an opportunity to engage in moral preening.

Despite frequent calls to safeguard “our democracy” from anyone dastardly enough to disagree with her opinions, those calls ring hollow because of her blatant partisanship.

And Nancy Pelosi just launched an unhinged attack on the Supreme Court.

Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) becomes very disagreeable whenever she meets a political opponent who won’t simply bend to her will.

Pelosi is in a panic over the prospect of another Trump Presidency

Never one to shy away from hyperbolic statements, in a December interview on far-left MSNBC’s The Last Word, the ousted House Speaker said that “[Donald Trump] is trying to crawl back into the White House, but we cannot let that happen. I say that with all due respect in the world for the people who may have voted for the former President but they have to make a decision, think about our democracy, our flag, our Constitution, the future of our children in a democratic state that is a model to the world.”

The problem for Pelosi is that Americans remember the Trump Presidency and view it as having been more successful than America after four years of Joe Biden.

Pelosi’s fear-mongering just isn’t working, as Trump leads Biden in the majority of recent polling.

Keenly aware of this fact, Pelosi has become more unhinged in a way that undermines the very system of government that she pretends to want to preserve.

In an interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN, Pelosi answered in the negative when asked if she had confidence in the Supreme Court.

Pelosi:  “I don’t have confidence in the Supreme Court”

“No, I think they have gone rogue. It’s most unfortunate,” she claimed. “But it’s unfortunate further to see what the other Justices, what happened to the Chief Justice? Did he go weak or did he go rogue? I don’t know. And that’s the same thing with these members of Congress.”

“So, no, I don’t have confidence in the Supreme Court,” she added. “I think that some of the decisions they have — see, I respect their point of view. If they have a point of view about a woman’s right to choose, okay, but that’s not what they’re there to do, to advocate for a point of view. Run for Congress.”

“I want us to get back to a place where the three branches of government, as our Founders initiated, are respected across the board,” she said. “But I don’t have a lot of confidence in this court, unfortunately. I say that with a heavy heart.”

There are several problems with Pelosi’s rant.

First, she has demonstrated through her actions that she doesn’t respect any branch of government that doesn’t comport with her worldview.

Second, Pelosi ought to have more respect for the Supreme Court.

When the Court overturned Roe v. Wade, it returned the power to write laws on contentious political issues to the Congress and the individual states where it belonged in the first place.

But it was never about respecting “democracy” or co-equal branches of government for Pelosi, and the public has found that out.

That’s why she is so upset.
