The woke radicals are doing everything they can to push their sick agenda on the American public.

There’s one group of people that the radical Left has put in their crosshairs — our children.

But parents are sick and tired of the Left and they’re beginning to fight back in a big way.

Gender Queer: A Memoir contains “pictorial depictions” that are not appropriate for children

At the end of the 2021 school year, Loudoun County Public Schools in Virginia drew national attention when parents showed up at school board meetings to protest the inclusion of LGBTQ-themed books in government schools.

One of the books in question was Gender Queer: A Memoir, which describes the experience of the author Maia Kobabe struggling with personal identity issues.

Eventually, the book was removed after school officials determined that it was inappropriate for young audiences.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Ziegler said that though he is “not generally in favor of removing books from the library,” it was clear that “pictorial depictions in this book ran counter to what is appropriate in school.”

The events in Loudoun County sparked a national debate that is still causing division today.

Now Gender Queer is back in the headlines as people across the nation begin to celebrate National Library Week.

Parents across the country are beginning to push back on the sexualized content

The American Library Association (ALA) released a report this week highlighting “the top 10 most-challenged books” in the United States.

At the top of the list was Gender Queer after parents objected to sexually explicit LGBTQ content being presented in their children’s literature.

Gender Queer wasn’t the only book challenged over the inclusion of LGBTQ content.

The report cited LGBTQ content as the primary concern for seven out of the ten most challenged books.

Other topics of concern included the promotion of rape, incest, and drug use.

The ALA also reported that requests for removal had reached an all-time high, targeting “4,240 unique book titles.”

This represents a 92 percent increase in the number of books that are being targeted for removal from schools and libraries.

The giant leap followed a 65 percent increase from 2022 to 2023.

And the ALA is doubling down on its support for these materials.

Most Americans agree that these books should not be assigned to children

“In looking at the titles of the most challenged books from last year, it’s obvious that the pressure groups are targeting books about LGBTQIA+ people and people of color,” ALA President Emily Drabinski said in a press release.

Drabinski said that the group would continue to fight “for the freedom to choose what you want to read.”

“Shining a light on the harmful workings of these pressure groups is one of the actions we must take to protect our right to read,” she added.

But according to a recent poll by American Public Media, most Americans are not on her side.

The poll was conducted in 2023 and it found that over 60 percent believe “books that include lesbian, gay, or bisexual characters” should not be assigned to children in school.

31 percent of them believe the topic should be avoided entirely.

Parents are standing up and it won’t take long for the ALA to start to feel the heat.
