If you’ve paid any attention to the sports media lately, you’ve probably noticed that the WNBA is suddenly front and center.

After years of only existing because the NBA subsidized its millions of dollars in annual losses, Caitlin Clark’s emergence has given the league a chance to be more than a joke.

And comedian Shane Gillis summed up every red-blooded American males’ true feelings about the WNBA hype in less than 15 seconds.

The “rise” of the WNBA

It’s no secret that woke extremists in the sports world have spent years trying to convince fans that the quality of the WNBA’s competition and its entertainment value is no different than that of other high-level men’s sports that draw significantly more fans and media attention.

The increased viewership the league is reportedly experiencing as a result of some fans’ interest in Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has only served to further emboldened woke extremists.

It’s no longer possible as a sports fan to go a single day without seeing or hearing the sports media push the WNBA as if it’s now suddenly on-par with the likes of the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, or NASCAR, which still draws roughly three-times as many fans for their broadcasts.

Nevertheless, with so much media attention being paid to the WNBA, Hot Ones host Sean Evans recently asked comedian Shane Gillis whether he’s “gotten swept up into the WNBA hype.”

In less than 15 seconds, the previously “canceled” comedian summed up exactly how every red-blooded American truly feels about the “WNBA hype.”

“Oh yeah,” Gillis said while holding back laughter. “Definitely, man, I love it.”

“WNBA?!” he added with a massive smirk. “You kidding me? I can’t get enough. It’s f****** high-flying action.”

It only takes a quick look at just a few minutes of WNBA “action” to come to the conclusion that Gillis’ assessment hit the nail on the head.

But he also wasn’t done there.

“F****** grotesque”

Gillis went on to once again broach the topic of the recent “WNBA hype” on his podcast, Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast.

The comedian pointed out that despite the fact that ESPN and other networks are now airing WNBA games virtually every day, the league is reportedly still on pace to lose tens of millions of dollars this year.

“I think the league is still hemorrhaging money,” Gillis said. “They keep putting it on, it’s on everyday now. It’s on, like, ABC and ESPN everyday, and no one is watching.”

He continued by pointing out that “no one watches it, they just see a clip online of [WNBA player] Angel Reese clotheslining Caitlin Clark” and then the media runs with a divisive “race war” type of narrative to further divide the country.

Gillis and his co-host, comedian Matt McCusker, went on to discuss how “f******* grotesque” it is that woke “journalists” in the sports media continue to “racialize” sports in order to drive views and clicks on social media.

“ESPN loves doing it,” Gillis noted.

Ultimately, while the woke sports media is desperately trying to convince Americans that the “WNBA hype” is real, the fact of the matter is that Shane Gillis is right.

The entire ordeal is nothing more than another carefully coordinated woke media stunt.
